If your looking for an economical dining experience, there may be better places. If really good food, friendly staff, and a nice setting are on your list, check out Eau Claire, Wisconsin’s Mona Lisa’s. Our server was very patient and willing to do whatever he could to make our visit as pleasant as possible. All parts of the food and drinks were exceptional; very flavorful and delightful. I have no hesitancy in recommending this restaurant to others.
Reading the recent crabby reviews, we were wearing masks when we arrived and were ready & happy to show our vaccination cards, but it looks like that time has passed and it was no longer required. We come to Eau Claire once a year for the sculpture tour, but Mona Lisa's is a close second reason for our annual visit. The food is phenomenal every time. We only have time for one dinner a per visit, but we look forward to it all year long.
The food was actually good.The owner is rude. I was put on hold for 10 minutes only to be told I couldn’t place an order till 8.30 pm. There was no courteous and cordial tone. I understand that they’re busy but the rudeness was appalling.Also an 18% tip was included in my $200 diner. The waitress failed to point this out and so I tipped $40 on top of it. This sort of deceptive billing is thievery.The owner is beyond rude. Will never eat there again.

Anyone that negatively reviews Mona Lisas does so because they have a problem with their vaccination requirement or they're a cheapskate who doesn't like to tip so they are off put by the mandatory service charge. I FULLY appreciate the requirement to be vaccinated for entrance. When I called to make a reservation I was notified of this and was prepared when we arrived. The house gnocchi, grilled ceasar salad, and pommes frites were all mouth wateringly delicious! The fireplave was roaring and made such a cozy atmosphere! Can't wait to go back!
Bad overpriced Italian food and the bread is dry! Rude owner that treats people like she's doing you a favor by letting you dine at Mona Lisa's. There are many other restaurants in Eau Claire that are worthy of your money. Stay away just like I will. Ok, I'm ready for your negative response!
Consistently amazing! We’ve been dining at Mona’s since the mid ‘90s and have enjoyed outstanding service, food, and drinks every single time. Lisa is always friendly and goes above and beyond, and the ambiance is second to none. You literally cannot go wrong with anything on the menu! There’s really nothing like it in Eau Claire. Lisa handled the pandemic so well, we were able to feel comfortable dining in, and the carry-out option was much appreciated. Anti-maskers/vaxxers leaving negative reviews are just ridiculous, you’re not missed…Mona’s is even more enjoyable without you and your negativity. I highly, highly recommend this restaurant!
It’s a shame so many have clamored here to write a one-star review simply for this place’s vaccination policy. Guys, there are dozens of places to eat in Eau Claire that don’t require a vax. It’s not like you’re a persecuted minority, for Gods sake. Be an adult and show some courtesy to a small business doing its best, even if you don’t agree with the policy.As for the restaurant, it’s the best dining experience in Eau Claire, bar none. Great for special occasions or treating out of town guests.
Owner is extremely rude. I was refused service because I refused to show my vaccine card. It’s her restaurant and her right to discriminate against people who do not feel a restaurant should be checking a persons private medical records. But it is still discrimination! There are a lot of great restaurants in town! Don’t waste your time at Mona Lisa’s.
Called to see if I could make reservation. Woman who answered said she didn’t know how to transfer me on headset, to call right back and she’d have someone else answer to alleviate the headset issue. Same person answered when I called right back, must’ve forgotten about me immediately and when they realized it was me calling again they hung up on me. Not only that but this place requires proof of getting the jab to be enter their establishment. They clearly don’t care if they loose loyal customers. This is not the Mona’s I knew and loved in the past. I will never be back and I would recommend Bijou Bistro to anyone looking for a welcoming dining experience where you as a customer actually matter!
