Dinner with Irons!

My wife and I had our Anniversary dinner here. My wife had Captain Sully's Trio, Scallops, Shrimp, and Haddock, with a twice baked potato. I had a stuffed tenderloin with jalapeño and garlic butter, and potato skins we both had a southern old fashioned sweet. This was my second time at the Red Ox, great food last time and once again great.

I was a bit hesitant going here because from the looks of it the entire clientele were older than my parents, but we gave it a shot anyways and boy are we glad we did. The haddock was superb and the half rack of ribs I got also were just amazing. Atmosphere was pretty much what you would expect from a steakhouse or supper club, waitress was nice and did come by several times throughout the meal, which was actually pretty surprising because they were packed full, no more than like 2 empty tables. If there were any cons at all I would say that it is a bit pricey, now that's not to say that it wasn't worth it, you get very generous portion sizes and it was all just amazing, just pointing out that you can go here and drop quite a large amount of money. Now was it worth it? Absolutely it was! We will definitely be going back for sure!

They have awesome food friendly staff a lot of ways they prepare the fish about 13 of them I think prime rib was pretty awesome it gets packed fast very busy popular place make a reservation is my recommendation. It's a good family restaurant so kids are more than welcome

Jenny our server was awesome and the food was great. I'll definitely return. The prime rib and shrimp are amazing.

Ate with a group of 7. Everyone's food was delicious. Appetizers were great. Food was out fast. Save room because they bring out a tray of their desserts!

Love eating here every time I'm in Appleton! Ordered the thick cut pork chop and it did not disappoint! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Great Old Fashioned too!

Took my 13 yo daughter here for her birthday on a Sunday night (2/6/22). We didn't have a reservation, but got there at about 4:30pm and we were able to be seated immediately. Server was great. Food was ok, but not worth what I paid IMO. My daughter got the prime rib princess cut, she loved it and it looked good. I got the 2 inch thick New York strip steak. I ordered it medium, half of it came rare, the other half was medium to medium rare. I understand it is an extra thick steak, but if you can't cook it properly then don't serve it. Couldn't really taste seasoning on it, because it is served with au jus (the au jus did not come on the side). I got one plate with my steak sitting in a puddle of liquid that was sloshing around, and another smaller plate for my baked potato. Presentation is part of the appeal of a $30+ steak, and this had very little. The salad and appetizers were really good though, and since I took most of the steak home I didn't complain about it being undercooked since I would be cooking it again anyways. My wife's dinner appeared to be cooked ok, she didn't have any major complaints. But for a $150 dinner bill with tip, I feel I should have a better experience. We may go back at some point to give them another try, but doubtful.

The server was nice. Honestly I wasn’t impressed with the food. I could tell the steak was great quality but it just wasn’t cooked right. After taking it home I added seasoning and searing it properly it tasted great. This just wasn’t worth the money I paid. There are much better supper clubs around.

What a fabulous place to eat! Food was perfect, you have to try the Cajun catfish. Krystal was our server, attentive, engaging, and a great sommelier when it comes to recommending specific wines. Can't wait to go again!
