We had a great time here! All of the staff were so nice & helpful, from check-in & out, to waiter to valet. Unfortunately the dining areas weren't open for our pup, but these are dog lovers here and so they said we could eat in the library, which may have been the most beautiful space in the hotel! There is a portrait of the owners above the fireplace with their 2 dogs, so we felt right at home. The service was impeccable and our dinner was delicious. Our room was lovely, quiet and spacious, the bath was nice & had generous counter space. We would definitely stay here again!
Classy hotel, great staff, great food! Always stay here when in area, typically only overnight, would be happy to spend a week hare if needed. Enjoy the history, architecture, easy to relax here. Valet parking, bell staff, concierge, all the perks at a reasonable price.
Beautiful, historic hotel at the heart of downtown Parkersburg. Their restaurant is fabulous, whether you're having breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Amazing food and ambience! The hotel rooms are comfortably furnished. Keurig coffee machine was very appreciated including an array of tea and coffee k-pods. I definitely will return on my next trip.
We really didn’t get to spend as much time here as planned due to our late arrival but I was impressed with the facility and the staff was very friendly. The room was very comfortable and the hotel lobby and other areas were beautiful. We didn’t have a chance to eat there but the restaurant and bar area looked very nice.
This is a beautifully restored hotel with friendly people and unique dining Chef Pat came to our table and told of us the fresh herbs from their own patch used in the dishes they prepare. The barista prepared a perfect coffee to my specifications in the mornings. And everyone had a smile and a friendly hello. The room was very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The location was close to the Brennerhassett museum and ferry, the Oil and Gas Museum, and near Marietta.
We were a bit disappointed and didn’t feel the hotel lived up to its image of excellence. We stayed two nights and our room was never serviced. (Beds not made, trash not emptied, glasses not replaced…we did find towels in the closet.) No refrigerator in room and ice machine on third floor was out of order. A used glass on the table by the third floor elevators sat there for quite some time. (From Tuesday to Wednesday) Some amenities listed on the hotel site included: free breakfast, coffee shop, newspaper and spa…we saw none of these. Also, being an upscale hotel, a shuttle to Point Park to catch the boat out to the island is something they might consider in the future as a service to their guests. We took the tour of the hotel and enjoyed learning the history and viewing the luxury suites. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the beds very comfortable. We ate breakfast both mornings in the restaurant. The food was great but the wait time was deplorable. Fifty minute wait for a waffle the first day and twenty minute wait for a yogurt parfait the second. No one ever acknowledged or explained our long wait. A simple “thank you for your patience” would have been nice. I don’t believe we will be making a return trip to the Blennerhassett hotel, although we wish them well and hope they accept this critique in the spirit it is offered.
This charming and historic hotel has extremely gracious staff - nothing is beyond their capability. Clean, comfortable, well furnished. Terrific bar and mentionable restaurant helps as well. I stay nowhere else when I am in Parkersburg.
Hotel was good . If you like history this is the place to go . Lots to see and do ! There’s a few museums and an island to visit . The boat ride to the island was nice . Also a historical neighborhood not far from the hotel that you take a self guide tour with information about each home . Nice to have everything within walking distance from the hotel .
I was looking for a great hotel experience in the area, and Blennerhassett was at the top of the list. I stayed in the JFK Room. This seems to be a nice hotel, but I wouldn't classify it as Boutique based on the services and amenities. I paid a high price to find medium benefit. The people were wonderful, and that helped. Dinner was okay. BUT, breakfast was a disaster. The coffee was cold, the food was not great...not even good. I waited 30 minutes for the food to arrive at my table, and then part of it was missing. The toast was cold. I am not a complainer, but for the price, breakfast should've been spectacular. I expressed my frustration with the very friendly server, and she graciously did not charge me for coffee?? My final thoughts are that this hotel was once amazing, but now it is an over-priced relic of the past.
My husband and I just spent two nights at the Blennerhassett Hotel and were quite impressed with it. Our room was spacious, very attractive, comfortable, and clean. The restaurant was also very nice. The staff was friendly, helpful, and eager to accommodate us in any way. They worked together as a team and seem committed to helping the hotel thrive. We especially enjoyed the tour of the hotel. We love historic hotels and have stayed at many. We are thankful that the owners and staff are working so hard to make the Blennerhassett an attractive hotel.
