There was more dough than chicken, the noodles were terrible, fried rice was bland, and the egg rolls were straight pepper. The crab Rangoon was ok, but they give you the tiniest bit of sauce for it. Worst 50 bucks I’ve spent in a long time.
This is the only place in Morgantown that sells good authentic chinese food. I got the szechuan mala chili chicken and it was delicious. Anyone saying that other chinese places in Morgantown are better has never had any chinese food outside of general tso’s chicken and crab wontons ?♀️
Their bubble tea is the best I’ve ever had!!! The Lemon Kumquat is my favorite!!
I wish I could bring my Taiwanese "mom" here! Helena was a wonderful hostess, and she and I were the only ones there. She mixed up a tasty black tea with lychee flavour. I admit that I expected a different type of bubble tea than what I received, but it was delicious regardless. (Assi in North Wales, PA is what I'm used to, for anyone who knows it!) I'm newer to the beverage, really.I seriously can't wait to go back to Lavender Cafe to try more of their massive and very diverse menu. I never find places offering rice cake, so I'm hooked! They offer hot pot and vegetarian friendly dishes too, so there's zero excuse to not come here to enjoy the food. Absolutely worth it!Oh, and BE POLITE, don't expect the few available staff to be able to do dine in whilst the phone is ringing on a busy weekend dinner rush, AND LEAVE A GOOD TIP!!! Seriously, don't make it harder for awesome immigrant-run businesses. Support more good ones like this!???
Dined in. Excellent customer service, highly attentive. So. Many. Options! It took a while to decide what to order for drinks and meal because everything sounded so good. Wish I would have taken a picture of my food because
Order received was incomplete. I had ordered garlic chicken, but there was no chicken. I called the restaurant to let them know. The lady who amswered the phone proceeded to argue with me and insisted that there was chicken in the dish. I told her, again, that there was no chicken. She then said, "it's just one strip of chicken. It's not like a lot of chunks of chicken." Again, I tell her there is NO chicken. I ask for a refund and she says, "Hold on" I can hear or screaming at someone in the background. Both of them start arguing, then she gets back on the phone and says, "I am sorry, but there was chicken in it." Lavendar has declined in their cusrtomer service and food. When they first opened years ago, their food was excellent. I am wondering if there is new management, or quality control problems. I have never experienced anything like this. She was insisting there was chicken in it when I was looking right at it and there wasn't. Why would I waste my time and call if there was chicken?
Ordered shredded pork with peppers. The bowl was half empty!!! Also, it was 70% peppers and 30% pork. I've ordered this dish at many other restaurants and the never received that ratio. My wife and I ended up dumping most of our milk bubble tea down the drain. She hated hers immediately. I got to about halfway through mine. The seafood soup was good. The vegetarian dumplings were bland. By the way , dinner for two cost upwards of 60 dollars. If I am paying that much I expect decent quality food. I am very disappointed with the food.
The absolute worst asian cuisine i have ever tasted, if you know the flavor after you puke. That’s exactly how my food tasted like and i tried not to waste it and genuinely eat it but it was absolutely horrid I genuinely couldnt eat any of it. Literally go to new foo sheen right across the street and 1000 times better. Thank me later
I don't leave reviews often, but I was really disappointed in my recent takeout order. My teriyaki chicken was a very bland cut up chicken breast with brown chicken gravy on top. There was no teriyaki flavor. The general tso chicken had more breading than chicken. This food was definitely not worth the money spent. I have no idea why this place is rated so high.
Very good food, wonderful staff, just a tad pricey
