I am a Morgantown native. Tell me how I passed this place countless times but never stopped by until today. We sat outside to enjoy the sun and some craft beer. We ate the pretzels and beer cheese. The original indoor decor is beautiful. Loved it. Lemme tell you, it is worth it. The only reason I gave it a lower star rating is there are no locks on the stall doors in the ladies restroom.
Staff were friendly, GREAT selection of taps, the food was very good. A neat bar but could use some updating and care. Bar stools are worn and ripped, bar needs refinished or replaced and bathroom was horrible. Looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks and dried puke on the wall in the women’s bathroom. Would give tap selection a 5, service and food a 4.5 and restrooms a 0. With all the places on high street to compete with one would think more care would be spent to cleaning and updates. Could easily be one of the best spots on that street.
This is by far one of my favorite pubs to go to regularly in Morgantown. No matter the time of day I’ve never had a rude bartender and one named Cody has consistently made for a fun night of drinking. If I had to slight it, I’d say the restrooms are kinda terrifying, but that’s par for the course in college towns. Definitely would recommend
Delicious bar food right in the heart of Morgantown for relatively cheap. Wings were delicious along with the curly fries and onion rings. I went early on a Thursday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. I strongly recommend this place for both people in town and people who are visiting for the first or hundredth time.
I have been here a couple times now and absolutely love the atmosphere, food, and drinks. Feels like a proper nice pub.
I haven’t been to Gibbie’s since about 1992. My high school friends and I used to annoy the employees at Gabbys by getting one dessert and sharing it between the three of us and getting three waters with lemon because we never had a lot of money between us. I walked in today with my 20 year old son, and had a great meal and it almost felt like no time has gone by in between. The service was great. I feel bad b/.c I didn’t get my servers name. It was a young lady, 20 something, w/ long dark wavy hair, and dark framed glasses. I am a Motownie. My family had a restaurant downtown back in the day. Coming from a restaurant service family, I recognize, and appreciate good service very much. I’ve been doing a thing with leaving a heads up shiny penny atop the tip/credit card slip, to signify “perfect service” since I was young. I happened to have just emptied my change into a donation bucket, and had not even 1¢ in cash. Hopefully this review will reach the waitress. I hope so. If so, thank you for perfect service?, and for helping to create a nice lifelong memory for me, and my son.
The deep fried pepperoni rolls are a must have
5 stars for the craft beer. Even got some for $2 bc they wanted to kick the kegs.4 stars for the breakfast burger. The meat was well cooked and seasoned, but everything else (tater tots, cheese, egg) was quite boring. It needed a pop of flavor.5 stars for the brew fries.5 stars for the bartenders and waitstaff.
Fun place to sit at the bar and enjoy a pint.
Clean restaurant and restroom, food was very good, server was nice and kept drinks filled.
