Blackbear is our go to place to eat when we want good food, good service, and a true atmosphere including dog friendly. It’s a great place for lunch or dinner in small or large groups. We held a state association social there and it had a relaxed but quality atmosphere that made getting together more enjoyable because there was something for everyone to enjoy.
I've been coming here for years and food and service has been consistently good! Also a great place for trying local beer as they usually have 20ish beers on tap from around the area. You can build your own burrito but I would recommend the Calypso. Plus the coleslaw that's served on the side is BANGIN. They also have local art for sale and live music several times a month. Def come here if you live in the area or even if you're just visiting!!
This place was the best restaurant I have ever been to. First off, the employees are more than kind. Next, the second you order, in less than five minutes the food comes. Finally, the food is sooo good. When I mean good, I mean the best American food I have ever tasted. In my opinion, this was a great experience and everyone who reads this should go there. And I’m not even from West Virginia!
I and a group of friends take a van from Washington, DC to and from Ft. Wayne, IN every February, and we always stop at Black Bear each way. Great food and great service. I always build my own burrito, so as a picky eater, I can still get exactly what I want. None of us have any reason to upset our ritual.
No napkins, paper towels like you get in the bathroom. $6.50 for ranch dressing for the salad. Charge you for tortillas chips an salsa when it’s free everywhere else. Slow won’t be back way overpriced
3 words: Fish Tacos. We absolutely adore Black Bear having visited the downtown location for quick lunches for years. However now we go across town to Evansdale location and while the food and service is the same (GREAT!!) I have to say this location is so much larger and spread out which during the on going pandemic helps ease our dining out fears.The menu literally has something for every one and is clearly listed for dietary concerns.
Great spot! Very casual, lots of food choices and a good outdoor seating area. Was able to bring my pup along and they brought her a bowl of water! Very nice service!
LOVE Black Bear! Rail Trail Quesadilla is fantastic, as is the Good Calypso. Live music and a large beer selection make this place a local favorite.
This restaurant is GREAT. I always get the Good Calypso and I love it. The staff is amazing. I got my order to go, and even though the place was hopping, I got my order in a out 10min. I love the atmosphere and the inclusive environment. They also included a beer cuzi as a surprise! It's like having an adult happy meal. You guys seriously made my day! Thank you!
Paid over $9 for an apple butter beer and paid $12 for a hazy IPA from Big Timber which is an hour and a half away. The prices were not listed, I didnt know theyd be that much. Food was good but paying over $21 for two beers is absolutely ridiculous. Wont be going back anytime soon
