In short...The chef is brilliant and the ingredients fresh and thoughtful. Our server was impeccable, friendly, and a great guide. My friend and I ate dinner here for the first time this evening. She ordered the scallops and I ordered the shrimp and grits. Both were exceptional. As a Southern girl who considers herself a shrimp and grits expert, I do not say lightly that this was the best shrimp and grits I've ever had.We ordered dessert to go: flourless chocolate and cheesecake, both of which are standout in their category. I never order cheesecake. But this cheesecake is special. And the flourless chocolate tort was so rich and devine with the decent Cabernet I had at home.We each left with wine sampled in our flights then purchased from the on-site store. Can't wait to come back again!

We were traveling through Martinsburg and selected Brix27 for dinner based on it's reviews in TA. We come from a town very much like Martinsburg were many of the older downtown buildings are being repurposed into bars and restaurants, so we had a reasonable assumption of what it would be like. We did not have reservations, although we were very early for dinner (5pm or slightly before), and the place being well under half full, we were seated at a table in the entrance (before the hostess stand) so although the ambiance of the place may be lovely I couldn't comment on it because we never actually got to see beyond the front door. Our server was polite, proficient, and with the right amount of attention without becoming a distraction. Another woman, came over during our meal and offered us a sample of a wine being sold in the store next door, (I assume the two businesses are connected) and offered us a 15% discount on our purchases if we brought our receipt from dinner. It is a "Wine Bar" so I get that, but hawking your wares during dinner wasn't appreciated by us particularly (the wine wasn't local, it was a blended white from New York). For dinner my wife had a flat bread with grapes, apples, goat cheese, and honey and it really was a fabulous tasting dish. Mine was slightly disappointing. I had the Pork Belly Sliders, and I felt that even for sliders they were small (the buns were more like canape sized than slider sized. The Pork Belly on the buns was fried very crispy (I suspect deep fried, but not sure) and in and of themselves somewhat dry and flavorless. The slaw on the sliders wasn't enough moisture to save the poor pork belly, but contained most of the flavor of soy, ginger and sesame oil that came through. The plate contained three drops of Hoisin Sauce, to dip your slider in. For $14 if those 3 bites were perfection I'd have been okay with it, but since the execution was off I don't feel it was good value. We both had a bar drink with dinner, the wife had a variation on a Moscow Mule featuring apples which she really enjoyed and which I can not really their name for it, but still, with tax and tip we rolled out $83 lighter and that felt a little expensive for what we got in return.

Brix27 was absolutely amazing. We are celiacs and finding a restaurant that can be accommodating is a challenge and Brix27 went above and beyond to safely serve us. Their gluten free flatbread option was AMAZING and with a few alterations just about anything on their menu can be made gluten free. We had the deviled eggs, a flat bread pizza, seared scallops with grits, and the braised short ribs. Everything was excellent! Their flourless chocolate cake and french press coffee was the perfect ending to our meal. The atmosphere never felt hectic or busy like most chain restaurants even though their reservations were full. Connie our waitress was the best!! Everything combined just made the evening perfect.

Great place for luncheon! Went with friends while passing through WV and we so glad we picked this place. We were greeted warmly and seated quickly for lunch (reservations recommended). Nice beer selection! Pork belly sandwich was excellent. Carrot bisque was soup of the day and it was excellent!! Smaller plates, but beautiful presentation. The setting is very chic, upscale, and historically charming! Excellent service and ambiance.

I really enjoyed the food here. Our server was friendly and couldn't of done her job any better. The drinks were very good. There isn't one thing I would change about this meal other than the price. Some dishes on the menu seemed a little expensive (that didn't stop me from trying them); every dish we had was well executed. Some I'd even say we're perfect. If the food total was 15-20% cheaper, this would be a 5 stare restaurant, in my opinion. That being said, I would recommend you go in and try it out.

The atmosphere of this place is impeccable. I ate here last night for my 24th birthday and my experience was divine. My server was sweet and attentive, gave good suggestions, and made the experience great. Sadly, I didn’t catch her name. For dinner, my girlfriend and I, started with the Loaded potato and bacon bisque with the chive oil and vermont white cheddar. By far this was the best tasting soup I’ve ever had. The flavor was AMAZING! I really enjoyed the chive oil. We also had the deviled eggs and those were also yummy. The filling was very light and flavorful. I can’t remember the name of the last dish we had but I do know they were friend potato cakes with pimento cheese and bacon inside, served with a special ranch. I did enjoy these but will definitely not order them again. The portion sizes are very small, but Im a small girl so it worked out. The wine was great and the flight was fairly priced! I did not enjoy their mixed drinks. By far the worst drink I ever had but I won’t let that ruin my review for them. I 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone that’s curious!

Such a nice meal. We made a reservation ahead of time. Selected an old fashioned and a beer to start, had salad for starters (plan to share, they are huge) and then had a glass of wine and sharable plates. Meals and service were delightful. Took a desert home. Would return. Building interior is so interesting!

This was my first time going and I will be going back soon. The place was inviting and warm. There was a variety of seating options. The food was fantastic and the staff friendly and attentive. There were 3 of us and we all ordered meals and split a desert. The cost was reasonable to the quality of food we received. My sister and I had the pick 2 loaded potatoes bisque and prime rib sandwich. My nephew has the pepperoni and sausage flatbread. We had a shareable lemon tart with blueberry compote. All were Delicious. Coffee was served in a French press and you can get it by the full or half pot. They serve local Black Dog coffee, which I love to see local sourcing local.None of us drank, but we saw where they had a 3 wine taster option and more than just wine.If you haven't been, grab your friends and go!

My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day early as usually...to avoid large crowds of course! However, we decided to try something new & made reservations for dinner at Brix 27.....it was great!
