The menu online is why we went. The menu once you get there is completely different and minimal. "Yeah it should have been updated years ago". The food that we did get was good, and good portion sizes and flavor. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall was a decent visit. The food is good if that's not why you were going there to begin with, and just happened to want a bite.
Found this online while staying in Ghent, WV. Made the drive in a winter storm and didn't regret it! Friendly staff member made sure we had any questions answered. Took the time to explain why they weren't currently serving what we actually set out to eat that evening. We were initially disappointed that we found an older menu online with different items; but, we went with wings and the fries loaded with cheese, bacon and sour cream. Yum! You can't go wrong with that! The fries were huge and enough for two people and we were extra thankful the gentleman gave us that info beforehand. The old style atmosphere with stained glass and dark wood was unique and helped me fall in love with the place--I loved the "cheers" type atmosphere. We would definitely come back here next time we're around this area.
We enjoyed our burgers and tap beers. We would have appreciated a tap list with descriptions of the local beers however. Our waitress was friendly and helpful.
Really cool place and has good food, too. Everything you expect from a bar and grill. But you can only smoke outside. To their credit, though, they do have a little portico out front where you can bring your drink with you while you smoke.
Great atmosphere. Simple menu...burgers and wings. Good draft beer selection with local IPAs.
Nice place to spend the Halloween day here the stuff are nice, drink and food is great in this area.
Went here for Halloween, fantastic food and service. Sat at the bar and had wings, we ordered Hot and Chernobyl. Had a Tucker Speed ipa, Cashmere ipa, and had a taster of most local breweries beers. Bartender was dressed festively, live music, great time all around.
Food is great here. Try the wings! The bar is so much fun! The crowd here is lively and very welcoming.

So I’m not sure if this is for every bartender, but specifically the female bartender working this past Wednesday night. The tavern had five patrons max the night we attempted to visit Foster’s, and my boyfriend and I were turned away for an “invalid out of state” ID. Which was perfectly valid, of age, and worked in every other establishment in multiple towns across West Virginia. Being as Beckley tends to do a lot of tourism throughout this time of year, and I spoke to locals about the scenario and they claimed of the few times they frequented the establishment they weren’t even asked for identification, I’m almost left to believe that the female bartender chose to refuse service due to my boyfriend and I being a mixed raced couple, as we were the only minority in the building. So to anyone who’s looking for a welcoming environment, this isn’t the bar to try out.
