This place is kinda hit and miss. At times they are some of the best sushi around but at times they tend to make their sushi mediocre. Overall I would recommend giving it a try.
Best sushi in Woodinville! Delicious, fresh, courteous service. We love that it’s a smaller restaurant. You can eat outside - which we do often. The lunch sushi bento is generously sized and has a nice variety: 4 pieces of sushi, a greens salad with a miso ginger dressing, California roll, tempura veggies and a tempura prawn, gyoza and miso soup. We’ve also had their sashimi, yakisoba, teriyaki chicken, Chirashisushi, Donburi, Tonkatsu and Udon soup. All our Japanese favorites and all beautifully prepared. A feast for the eyes and stomach! The sushi is consistently good. It’s nice to know we can count on fresh sushi anytime we want it.We prefer to eat there at lunchtime. They are closed Mondays so keep that in mind. Their price point is very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food for each dish.
Sushi is Greta but the service is awful. Took them 1.5 hours to prepare an order consisting of 5 roles, 1 tempura, and 2 miso soups. If you're expecting quality service go elsewhere. They have 2 people making rolls and they work very slowly
The sushi was good, but the atmosphere and service could use some help. The lighting feels like you are in an interrogation room. The waitress was indifferent at best. Gave us our bill when we were going to order more food. Water tasted like a sink. But the sushi was good. Order the volcano roll.
This is not a review of the food at this restaurant. My review is specifically about the OWNER of the restaurant, Pedro. A group of us came into the restaurant as part of a bachelorette party, after a day of wine-tasting. We were greeted by Pedro who stated he was the owner. He brought bottles of wine and sake for the table, which seemed generous, however, he began to touch many women in our group in a way that made us feel uncomfortable. He was also drinking and doing shots at our table. He would put his arm around some women in our group without consent and kept pushing himself into our seats. He said he would pay for our food and drink, but then we were charged anyway. He even followed us out of the restaurant asking where we were going. After our group sobered up, we realized how inappropriate Pedro had been during the evening. This is a warning to any women who have been drinking- this is not a safe space
The sushi is amazing. 4 stars because of the wait. There was also some miscommunication but we're in a pandemic so it's understandable. Besides the wait everything was amazing. It's a bit pricey. NOT all you can eat sushi. We ordered alot of sushi so of course it was expensive.
Went for lunch. Ordered a sushi combo and chicken teriyaki. Sushi rice was dry and felt not fresh. Teriyaki was better done but nothing to write home about. We were unfortunately underwhelmed. Customer service was neither welcoming or unwelcoming. Just bland as another review mentioned. Can't believe this was written up in Seattle Met. Hope they read their reviews and improve. Good luck.
Terribly slow service. (Staff staring into their phones when we wanted to order drinks and food) Sushi was below average quality. Mushy tuna rolls Just not good. Dad considering the location in Hollywood hills.
We normally always eat in Millcreek @ sushi Zen but decided now that we live in Monroe, we try a place closer to us. Photos looked inviting so we made appointment for 8 since we don’t get off work until 7:30. She told me to be there before 8!pm, guessing because they close at 9. I felt rushed already and should have canceled but i thought oh well, maybe she was trying to just get out of there but they don’t open till 5 so i don’t get it….waitress was just bland. No emotions at all. Seemed like we where a burden. We ordered the bento box. It had fried veggies, two of them lol, that’s it. Two shrimp and tons of fried chicken that not only smelled like fish but also tasted like fish. I swear if i closed my eyes i would have thought it was Gross , tough fish. I think they used the same oil to fry as they do with their shrimp and fishy products. I didn’t eat the chicken after two bites. I gave it to my dog, it was so gross. I was sick to my stomach when i got home and had to throw up (I’m sorry) i felt so sick . I will stick with a friendly service and fresh food at Sushi Zen in Millcreek and never to return to this place. If you don’t know any better i guess you rate it the way you like but if you tried sushi zen, you’d know what I’m talking about. Let’s not forget at 2 min to 9 they turned off the lights to the beverage coolers, no music and already ready to kick you out. Got two stars because the desert wasn’t too bad.
I got a bento box today and it was perfect. The soup and veggies were nice and hot, and the tempura had a fantastic texture. The sushi flavor was perfectly balanced as well. Kudos to Sora!
