So this winery definitely a no! No attention to details at all. The wines were nice - especially a couple of the whites on a hot day - but the customer experience was awful! More staff than customers but no people skills. Definitely a “sorry are we bothering you?” day! So many nice people in Woodinville…. Go visit them instead!
We've been to several wineries all over the country but this one has got to have the worst service we've ever encountered. Our part of 6 was seated outdoors. At other wineries a waiter comes around to take you tasting orders and usually curates the wines for you, explaining the process and tasting notes. Not here. If you actually want to be served you have to go inside and order at the bar, then a waitress will drop the flights off at you table with no explanation to what they are (though there is a card). We weren't even aware there was water available until we went inside as nobody even asked if we would want any. When we asked for forks for the charcuterie plate she looked dumfounded, they could barely scrounge together 6 forks for us. Nobody even checked in with us after that. They definitely weren't understaffed, they just couldn't be bothered to come out of the air conditioning to do their jobs. And on top of that, we were in the middle of a terrible heat wave, making sitting outside unbearable. The umbrellas and small trees are the only source of shade on the patio and they were not sufficient, no fans or any kind of mitigation was available. We asked if we could sit inside and the hostess gave us a surly response about how there's no space for our party and they can't push the tables together even though the indoor area was almost totally empty for the entire time we were there. As we were leaving one of the waitresses sneered at us.The space is very beautiful and modern and I'm sure it would have been better on a day that wasn't so hot. But that's no excuse for the terrible and inattentive service staff.
This was our 4th visit and will not be our last! :)FOOD:On property kitchen that makes their own food. It is a limited menu but what they provide is really good. During this visit, we had the "Spring Onion & Burrata" brick oven pizza and it was amazing! The size was roughly 12" so its a good pizza for 1-2 person. There was a good char on the crust and there was an evenly spread of topping so each bit had a little bit of everything.BEVERAGE:Most winery/tasting room will have 1-2 different tasting options but Novelty Hill-Januik has usually around 3-4 different options. Also like most winery/tasting room, if you purchase a bottle ($35+) they will waive ONE tasting for free.LOCATION:In Woodinville, this is one of the few handful of tasting room that quite large. They have sizeable interior, private reserve able event space, and extremely room exterior. They are pet and family friendly which is a huge plus for us!STAFF:Great team of people working at this tasting room! Its family own and run with extended staff that are friendly and always willing to help out.On Sat, Mar 21 it was a great sunny day so on a spur of the moment, we decided to stop by and sadly we did not have reservations. The hostess to so kind and was able to fit us with one of the smaller tables inside. Due to the pandemic, they like all the other tasting room have moved to a reservation only. Make sure to book your reservation time!!
Morgan and Liz helped us plan our event and were amazing today. They are very accommodating with fantastic ideas and even better wine. Thank you to such a great team.
Staff and service were excellent along with the pizzas. We had the lamb pizza, mushroom pizza and fries with our wine flights. Everything about this places says comes back again! Great experience and worth the drive.
I cannot say enough great things about Novelty Hill-Januik! We hosted my sister's bridal shower here and everything was perfect! The staff was incredibly helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. They were on top of everything from the day we booked the shower (seven months in advance) to wrapping everything up three days post-event. The space is gorgeous, the wine is delicious, and everyone here is wonderful.
Spent a couple of hours here this afternoon with a friend enjoying the wine and the food. I really like the architecture of the building, it's light and airy and as someone who struggles with too much noise, the winery was buzzy but not busy and not loud. We tasted the reserve flight and were given a honey-tasting rosé to start. We ate the **excellent** fig & cambozola pizza and the charcuterie.
We really enjoy our experience here, good wines great food amazing service,Mo was so special and warming
Beautiful winery in the heart of Woodinville. Great wines and a relaxing atmosphere with a lovely outdoor space when it's warmer
I am writing review while seating here.We had a reservation and was greeted at the door and given 90 mins and a very very small table that hardly fits a chessboard, a pizza plate and 2 glasses of wine so much so I spilled wine. No one came to check in, no one offered to clear the table. I had to collect the used plates and napkins and hand them to them at the bar. I CLEANED MY OWN TABLE WHERE I PAID FOR FOOD AND WINE.They know the table is small, when our pizza arrived, they handed us the plate and just went away. They couldn’t even fit the plate on table themselves.Wine selection is mediocre, but the food is good.
