The food is amazing. A bit pricey considering portion sizes. The reason for 3 stars is because of the service. I come here often for lunch since it’s a short walk from my work. I have always had “strange” experiences with the wait staff. They don’t really have any care for the customers…..almost like the customs are just a minor inconvenience and not that important. This wasn’t the experience a few years ago. I hope they educate and make some changes soon. I would like to enjoy my food at the restaurant instead of eating it in my tiny office. It always takes an extra 10-15 min for my Togo order of salad rolls and an appetizer. Making it a 30 min adventure when it should be 15 min adventure.
Thai Orchid suffers from the law of diminishing returns. Their food is ok, there's nothing wrong with it. But the same can be said for a number of Thai restaurants in Vancouver. As I said, the food is ok. Their prices however are far too high for both the quality and quantity. All in all Thai Orchid is an alright place to eat. But nothing to write home about.
Everything we ordered was good!! Will return when I'm in the area!Ordered; pictured85. PAD SE EW (VG)Broccoli, Chinese broccoli, a choice of meat with wide rice noodles, egg and topped with cilantroSEA OF LOVESpicy tuna, asparagus, avocado, scallions, topped with seared salmon, masago, tempura crunchy and sweet sauce
Fantastic food! A plethora of vegan options, all laid out on their menu. Tofu nuggets with a sweet and slightly sour tamarind sauce, vegan tofu pineapple fried rice and a gin-based cocktail made with lychee. My one critique is that I was confused by the choice of garnish for the fried rice: cucumber and tomato. I tried to add it to the meal, but it never really fit (in my opinion). Glad I finally got a chance to try out Thai Orchid!
Excellent Thai food!!! I really wish they could just make reservations, it's a zoo trying to navigate getting a table and the wait time of 30+ minutes can be frustrating. Plus, they hassled us for getting a drink in the bar area to wait on a table - even though we were having a glass of wine while waiting. ?I still love this restaurant, and I will always recommend it for authentic Thai favorites on the menu, it just feels like they could be more organized about handling their clientele/patrons.
Great food, good service. Evil prince curry, rainbow and caterpillar rolls are our favorites.
I got the fire dragon and the thai orchid roll. They were delicious! Then we also got fried rice, and appetizers, and finished with banana foster with ice cream for dessert!!AMAZING!
Came here after a friend suggested it, and wow what an amazing meal & experience. The menu is huge, you can customize for your diet or needs and the staff was super friendly. I will 100% be coming back, can't wait to try something new next time!
Really great food! We’ve come here a few times. We went the other day and I ordered the crispy roll and my husband ordered the Pad Thai. My sushi took a bit of time both times I ordered it. But if you order anything like Pad Thai, it comes quicker. That being said, the food is delicious but if you come anytime after 6:00 be prepared for a very long wait time. We once waited1hr 30 min just to be seated! Deducted one star just because how busy it is. (but that just speaks for the quality of the food)
I ordered some salmon avocado Maki and I have to say it's probably the worst sushi experience I have ever had. I noticed the meat was very tough so I took one piece apart and found part of the salmon cut to be purple. The soup was ok though.
