Great service and great food. Staff was very friendly, and food came promptly. Our waitress ensured our drinks were filled, and would check in regularly on our needs. Will definitely revisit when back in Vancouver.
Waitress was horrible. Food was missing components as stated on menu. Very poor service.
We started off with high expectations- the decoration is lovely and the staff is very friendly and courteous. They’re definitely understaffed but they still do their best. We started off with samplers and those were nice! But their entrees were completely devoid of flavor and needed to be HEAVILY seasoned with salt and pepper which still… wasn’t enough! Very disappointed in the food quality - especially at this price point.
A good visit with family. Ambience great. Everybody enjoyed the food, except for myself. The trout was terrible -- Overcooked, practically tasteless, etc. The potato, vegetables, and bread were quite good.
The oysters were warm! Lol how do you serve warm oysters on the half shell? The drinks were weak. The food was disgusting. Heat and eat. Had the admiral feast. Didn't finish it at all. The potatoe skins had barely any bacon again tasted like heat and eat. Learned my lesson never again
Haven't been to this McGrath's location for a long time - just too many other options in the area. Really glad I checked it out. Service was good (tends to be slow first me, other find it more relaxing), personable, and attentive. Menu and drink options are excellent and the food was outstanding in terms of flavor. Portions were decent. Definitely on my short list now.
2.5 Stars. Pretty disappointed in the quality of food at this location. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer and the center was freezing cold. They provided a replacement but they are low quality and flavorless. The crab and shrimp pasta included boiled, flavorless shrimp with garlic cream sauce like water. The “wood fired prawns” were boiled and finished off with a brûlée torch to look wood fired. Also, we waited ten minutes for our beverages, after the appetizers arrived. The place was probably less than half full and it took way too long for our food to arrive. The staff were very friendly on a lighter note. The salads are really good with good dressing and the crab and artichoke dip was tasty as well. The lack of quality and service is probably attributed to the recent labor shortages. Won’t be returning though.
The first time we came in everything was amazing. Fresh and delicious. The second time we came in everything was a mix of dry, soggy, overcooked and undercooked. The staff was very kind and helpful. The place seemed busy, but our food tasted as if it had been sitting out all day. None of us felt well when we returned home and ended up taking turns in the bathroom. The crab legs were dried out and smelled gamey, the steak was tough and hard to chew. The crab cakes were cold. The potatoes were dry and smelled strange. The mac and cheese was nearly flavorless and underdone. The ahi tuna was still partly frozen and tasted freezer-burned which was somehow overpowering the wasabi sauce it was drenched in. By the time we realized what the issues were we had already eaten about a quarter of our plates. By the end of our eating experience It was horrendously unpleasant; Especially when spending over $130 pre-tip. We were under the impression there was someone new in the kitchen feeling rushed. Understandable, but left us feeling uninterested in returning. Frankly it's quite a shame after our first impressions as there aren't a lot of fish places nearby. Our excitement has turned to disinterest.
Good food and great service at a reasonable price.
