Haven't seen a skippers in years so I had to stop for nostalgia reasons the meal was good the clam chowder was amazing the fish deep fried Alaskan pollock was not as good as the deep fried cod that skippers patronized in the '80s but the meal was still
Awesome fish n fries n chowder!!! Excellent service and very clean ? so Happy we went !!! Tom
Its been a long while since we last visited. Liked it better this time. The eating area felt much cleaner this time. We ate in arriving half hour before closing. We ordered the shrimp, clams and fish platter. It was nicely cooked. Not overdone at all. It was all good and there was more than enough food for the price. They were kept busy with orders going out the service window so we must not be the only ones liking it. We will get there again sometime soon.
Absolutely amazing staff, tasty/delicious food and speedy service. I would highly recommend anyone who loves seafood to eat here.
TL;DR: Horrible Food.Seeing the good review, we decided to go to the place but was really disappointed. The fish in the fish and chips didn't seem like very well cooked, the coleslaw was barely edible. We ordered chowder as well, the smell of which made me puke. The 1 extra star I have added is for their fast service and cheap rates. We went there at around 5 for dine-in.
Just like old times. We are so glad this restaurant is still open. We don't live in the area, but when we visit we always come here. People are really nice, food is good.
Best place to get decent seafood when you're not by the sea! Fish and chips with Alaskan cod? Yes please! Friendly service too!
My friend works here and he is always giving me the inside scoop about how they always get some of the best cuts of fish. Shout out to you Ronnie! Lol but amazing food and good fast service
I'd thought that all Skippers had gone out of business a long long time ago, so I was very excited (and surprised!) when by happenstance I discovered a few weeks ago that this location existed! The food was just as delicious as I'd remembered it being years ago, the service was fast and friendly. The menu is predominantly fried seafood, so if you're looking for lighter dishes this might not be your thing. Personally I will gladly make the 30-minute drive up to this restaurant again, to me the food and nostalgia is worth it. For $10 I ordered the Captains Platter which came with fish, shrimp and clams, plus fries and coleslaw.
This place does not do indoor dining. You have to order at a walk up window on the south side of the building. The cashier was friendly and nice, but the food, the food was divine. Not sure if it was pleasant childhood memories, but the food, especially the clam chowder was scrumptious! Loved it.
