We felt rushed here. Our server sat us down, grabbed us water then asked if we were ready to order. El Tapatio has a huge menu so it takes time to figure out what you want—especially since I’ve never eating here before.My enchilada was delicious but my chalupa was a disaster. The bottom half was soggy and was basically a ground beef salad that I gave up on after trying to eat it. This place was worth a try but I won’t be coming back. Too many other great options for Mexican food in Clark Co.
When arriving I was greeted promptly which I appreciate they said it in English and Spanish bilingual in this place LOL loved it. Chris was impeccable the waitress was nice and not bombarding me with questions if I would like to try a special drink every she came to the table which I appreciated and not soliciting me. When receiving the chips and salsa it was very delicious hot and fresh chips ?? the salsa itself was housemaid and tasted like my mother's own red salsa with a little twist because it had chunks of vegetables tomato onion cilantro which traditionally doesn't come in a red salsa only in a regular salsa a chunky one if you will. The food was phenomenal came out within 10 minutes of us ordering which is unheard of especially when they were busy and they were once again the waitress was always prompt very friendly and made sure everything was as it should be like a normal restaurant does but there's only one downside that was my friend's Rice Mill AKA orchata he said it was too watered down and he said he might as well just drink regular water that's how bad it tasted but besides that everything was delicious all in all so that's why I gave it four out of five stars ?????️
I love how hot the food is, how short the time is waiting for your food, the flavors! Most of all the friendly service!♥️
"Would you like some cheese with that cheese?" Lol, but seriously, nice atmosphere and friendly service. Food came out quickly and was nice and hot, no sitting under lights for this place, and the plates are huge! Chile relleno was excellent with a nice big chili. Beans are flavorful, very cheesy. Rice had lots of flavor but was a bit salty. Also the tea was bitter but otherwise we really enjoyed it.
It was good. The fajitas were as described but I prefer a fresher simpler fajita. I like Bell peppers and onions grilled but this had mushrooms and was heavy in sauce. It was good...just not my preference. The rest of the family enjoyed their dinners. Certainly lots of food. Each meal made three meals for each of us.
My martial arts friends and I decided to have a little Christmas celebration after their qualifying test at the establishment next door, while getting some good Mexican food and cocktails. The service was a bit slow and all over the place, but understandably so since they had to serve an unexpectedly large amount of people. At least they were friendly. We did our best to make it easier for them. I had a lot of substitutions in my dish as a picky eater that weren't followed (I did ask for no beans or vegetables) but I just worked around them. The fajitas meat had an amazing flavor and complemented the rice. Their alcoholic beverage menu was nice and large with a lot of variety and I would highly recommend their strawberry daiquiris. Definitely a good place to hang out with a big group!
We were totally disappointed with El Tapatio in Hazel Dell. We were looking forward to the Fish Taco’s we ordered but they were not good. The fish was in tiny ground up pieces & it smelled & tasted very fishy the side vegetables served with the taco’s weren’t fresh the avocado was pretty much all brown & black, the beans were cold the rice was ok but not much flavor, needless to say the 2 meals we ordered went in the garbage. What a waste of money. We definitely won’t be going to this location again their quality & flavor of food has gone downhill.
3rd strike for me. Waited forever for a server. It wasn't busy and staff kept walking by. Finally a guy shows up with chips and salsa and water. Gets my drink order, grabs my drink and says he will be right back to take my order. I was ready to order but assumed he had too many things going on at once.. idk. I ate my chips and salsa and drank my drink. Again, with a full staff, nobody checked on me. Server never came back. I got up, paid for my drink and went to a restaurant up the street.
Food was great and reasonably priced. Service was perfect. Relaxing atmosphere. What more do you want?
Very clean, speed of service excellent and our food was excellent!! Happy customer and will be returning.
