Not one to write a review unless necessary. I ordered the Tri-plate through Doordash. after ordering a $22.95 plate that ended up costing $37.01 I got a kid's meal. The brisket was tough, the two ribs clearly had liquid smoke on them. Collards tasted like they were cooked in the black sea and the cornbread must have been from last week. I'll give this place 12 months from when the doors opened to close. Save your time and money. Go to Billigan's. I was really excited to try something new! :(
Funny, the 1 star reviews are not real reviews. This place is amazing. I'm originally from the KC area, this BBQ is really impressive. We will keep coming back for sure. Amazing food for a great price.
Finally got a chance to try this place. Really solid proper BBQ. Meat was fantastic. Sides and the regional sauce choices were an added bonus. Very well priced as far as bbq goes as well. Will definitely be back!
Was not disappointed. I am beyond thrilled we have a bbq restaurant here in Salmon Creek—and priced fairly. I left here with a full tummy and a big smile. Potato salad was amazing, ribs fell off the bone, brisket melted in my mouth. I’m drooling now because of how great this place is.
It was decent especially considering the lack of great restaurants in Vancouver. The ribs, mac n cheese, and Kansas sweet sauce were the highlights of our meal. Portions are on the small side but I’ve found that’s the norm in the Salmon Creek area. The chicken and pulled pork were surprisingly moist but not as flavorful as I hoped. If you want to stay local - Creekside BBQ is probably your best option for BBQ. However, if you have time, make the drive to Longview and go to Hop-n-Grape. Much better food.
My husband and I stopped for lunch and were headed to Planet Thai but our noses brought us in to Creekside Barbecue instead. We both ordered different things to try as much as possible together. The brisket had good flavor but some pieces were a little dry. Paired nicely with the Texas Red sauce alone or mixed with the South Carolina Mustard. The smoked chicken was dry and lacking of anything special. It did pair nicely with the SC Mustard.Surprisingly the pulled pork was also a bit dry with merely decent flavor. Paired well with the mix of the Texas Red sauce and the SC Mustard. The rib tips were the most flavorful and practically melted in our mouths. No sauces needed here. All of the sides were fantastic and obviously homemade. As was the blueberry cobbler we enjoyed.Horseradish infused coleslaw…what could go wrong there?? SUPERB!Sweet potatoes were cooked and spiced so nicely! Would definitely eat them again!Collard greens…yummy, but watch out for that heat! They definitely have an unannounced kick of heat!Potato salad made from red potatoes. Good but lacking a bit in flavor for me.
Southern girl approved!! Being from South Carolina living in the PNW, so happy to have a place that I can find good mustard base bbq sauce! We dug in to our plates before I could get a picture. The pulled pork was cooked perfectly. Can’t wait to come back!!
Now Smokin Oak and Daddy D's has some competition... If you live in Salmon Creek there is a new dog friendly restaurant (for outside guests. A decent amount of inside and outside seating. We tried the chicken, the pulled pork and the brisket, but that Mac and cheese - wow!
Absolutely loved the food. Will be back. Amazing service!
I was very excited to discover a BBQ restaurant had opened up down the street from where my family and I live, and this place did not disappoint! The mac ‘n’ cheese was so delicious, and the meat was so tender (I ordered the “The Dallas” sandwich which contained their brisket), and my husband ordered a half slab of their St Louis ribs. All of it was perfectly cooked and even our 2.5 year old child gobbled it all up!My only small grievance is I wish there was a child’s menu for child friendly portions, but it’s not significant enough to count it against this new and friendly establishment! Definitely recommend??
