The kind of small diner comfortable setting that anyone who enjoys diners would love. The 10 inch pancake is enormous, way bigger than we considered lol. Also, it was incredibly delicious! Granted, I only could eat part of it because it's so filling, my dad ate the rest and enjoyed immensely. The bacon is super thick, which I'm not normally into, but it was actually very good. We will be going back.

Talk about an American Cultural Epicenter! Smack in the middle of a barren food wasteland (with the exception of the great tamale place across the street) yet accessible from almost everywhere we pass Carol's Corner on the way to almost everything.Their paring lot is huge, yet when I pull in, the place is obviously packed! I park way in the back thinking there's no way the owners of all these cars can fit fit into this one place. But when I get to the main entrance, it's like the Tardis, much bigger inside than outside. The place is jumping, yet I am seated and served promptly and with friendly efficiency. The menu is huge and the choices are America on steroids! After a brief scan I settled on the Chicken Fried Steak with a cup of soup, a choice that exemplifies the delicious bad choices of my life. So, let us talk about that cup of Beef and Barley soup... Just thinking about it, tears of joy and longing well up in my eyes like a morning mist rising out of the lowlands. Seriously, it was perfect. Next time, I get a bowl of that and call it a day. When the Chicken Fried Steak arrives I am intimidated. It's bigger than my head. A veritable mountain of country Gravy hiding mashed potatoes and a plank of crusted meat like layers of the earth's core. OK... I'm going to say that the Chicken Fried Steak itself was nothing to write home about. Mostly tasting of salt, but the Country Gravy itself made up for it and I loved the mashed potatoes.I hit that plate like a marathon runner hitting the road with determination, patience, and fortitude. When I arrived at the empty plate I felt like doing a victory crawl around the restaurant. They should give out awards. When I looked up from my Herculean task, the place was as empty of customers as a sea coast town after a tsunami warning... Just the wreckage of the lunch hour and the poor overworked staff wandering around trying to clean up. I asked the waiter if it was something I said, or if I smelled bad, but no, it was just the time of day. When I went outside, the parking lot looked like a ghost town in the Mojave desert. All in all, it was a great lunch. Come hungry, the servings are epic. Surrender yourself to the down home American experience. It would be nice if they seasoned their chicken fried steak a little more creatively, but the gravy and the soup and taters made up for it. Next time, I go for the BLT with soup and I expect it will rank in the top five in the county. This is the American Diner standard. Good solid food with skilled hard working staff and a feeling of welcome and abundance. I mean, I love the ethnic cuisines. I really do. I live for exotic and interesting. I crave spice and mystery, but coming home to the good old fashioned diner of my youth is like taking a pilgrimage into the heartland of America.

Over the years (18) we have gone to Carol's Corner Cafe and I have always ordered the country fried steak. I have always enjoyed it up until about 6 months ago and this morning. Maybe they changed cooks, or the one that's been there has lost interest in cooking, because the steak was dry, almost like it was over cooked, or cooked ahead of time and left in a warmer for several hours. This was both times we were there. I used to recommend the country fried steak to friends, but sadly I can't anymore.

OMG! This place is amazing!! Visiting family from GA and my mother in law brought us here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We got there early, around 715. I was super excited to see they had eggs Benedict!! I got those with a side of hash browns with cheese. Let me tell you, these portions are HUGE!!!! I could not even finish a quarter of it!My husband got a scramble and asked for a side of hash and the waitress asked had we been there before and laughed lol she said he wouldn't be able to finish it, so I figured I would share mine.Even so, we couldn't finish!Everything was super delicious, hot, cheesy and above all super fresh!!! Kind of jealous we don't have something like this where I live!!

The food and service were amazing! Took home their huge cinnamon roll and it too was delicious!

Friendly staff! Portions are huge (as everyone has mentioned its true). We tried a Denver omelet and country fried steak. The omelet was delicious - the country fried steak is always my breakfast go to when trying anywhere new - I wasnt a fan of it (the gravy is on the bottom) i read from other reviews this was concerning as well but i figured maybe it was fixed by now (i didnt even think to ask them to place on top) but i still wasnt a fan of the flavoring / texture of the steak. The Pancake was large & in charge and fluffy. I will go again but order something other than the country fried steak for sure - im thinking maybe the fish & chips or chicken strips? We also brought home a HUGE cinnamon roll to enjoy sometime later at home as it was the size of a plate as well. pricing is about $15 a plate which is really decent especially since its about 2-3 meals or could definatley be shared for only $1 extra (not too shabby) ?

My partner and I visited and were amazed at not only the quality of food, but also the service. We had the best breakfast in the world. This is easily one of, if not the best meal we’ve ever eaten. I cannot recommend this place enough! Such a warm and welcoming environment! God bless carol

Short wait because the food is delicious! Thick sliced bacon, perfect pan cakes. Biscuits and gravy just a half order will do for most folks. Portions are large and well worth the money and wait. If you're not a big eater I suggest bring family or friend and sharing a meal.

Portions are huge, yes. But every time we go, it's worse and worse. Last time it was 50 mins to get anemone on the phone to make an order. Today was quick but that's the only upside.. We love supporting small business but this will likely be the last time we choose Carol's. One omelet and a cup of chili was just shy of $40. The sausage looked and tasted like it was 2 days old and shriveled (picture attached) and the bacon was more burned and crispy than Sharon's Marie Callender pie. The pancakes were clearly cooked in bacon grease because thats all we could taste. Next time, we'll stay home.

We just moved to Vancouver in August and we love diner style eating. This place was recommended overwhelmingly by some kind folks on nextdoor, and boy did it not disappoint. The service was fast and friendly, my coffee was never empty and the portions were not only huge, it was the best breakfast I've had in years. Definitely will be telling my friends about this place!
