I had Rib Eye steak, baked potato & Caesar salad. Steak cooked rare as ordered. Served hot, was very tender and tasty. Salad was cold, fresh and crisp.Husband had Prime Rib, baked potato and veggies. Meat was very disappointing. It was tough and full of grizzle. Would not order again.We would still go back another time to try it again because my dinner was so good.
Dining at Billygan's Roadhouse was a unique experience. So, your served a bowl of peanuts when seated and the peanut shells are thrown on the floor, lol. I haven't experienced this since the late 70's at a bar in North Portland. I ordered the steak sandwich and french fries. The steak sandwich was very good with nice tender chunks of steak. And the french fries were nice and crispy just the way I like them. With everything being so expensive these days, the meal was reasonably priced.
We tried this restaurant several years ago before moving here and were very delighted that we had "discovered" it. Service has always been fantastic. The food is best described as "hit & miss". Sandwiches and burgers have always been quite good, the entrees, inconsistent. For example, sometimes their chicken fried steak is excellent, other times, tasteless. Nevertheless, we still enjoy going there every month or so. As a side note, their yeast rolls are outstanding! I could almost make a meal on just those!
Last minute valentines date, got seated at the bar without a wait, service was very good for a busy night. food was as expected, medium steak was cooked properly salad was great. Drinks were great!
An actual sawdust joint with sawdust on the floor might have been peanut shells as well. And Allergy Fest if you ask me. I sent back my steak twice cuz they couldn't even get a filet mignon done right without it being tough. The ribeye was thin as a piece of paper. Need I say more?
It certainly has a vibe going for it, lol. Peanuts are given before the meal and you're supposed to just throw the shells on the ground. Place is super low light, too. I got a burger and my eating partner got a steak salad. Both were mediocre. I think the actual steaks would probably be better. A soda was around 3$ and beer 5$. Might be a fun place to take kids, because they can throw the peanut shells on the floor.
Dining at Billygan's Roadhouse was a great experience! Mikaylah was our foodserver and she was very welcoming, friendly, and attentive to our dining requests. I ordered the prime rib (medium-well) and it was cooked to perfection! Their onion rings are exceptionally good, too. When visiting the Salmon Creek area in Vancouver, WA we will definitely return to Billygan's to eat!
Busy day, no breakfast. Got there around 230. Mushroom Swiss Burger, big and tasty (aside from red onions) and the fries were very hot and crispy with a nice seasoned coating.
Old school bar food, strong yummy cocktails and great service. Our shaved steak sandwich was yummy! We had the most hilarious hostess who told my husband it was family night and he didn’t need to be sat near a t.v. We were laughing so hard at this cute hostess. Glad to find a restaurant with a little personality.
SLOW SERVICE! Nice server but, Not super attentive. My fish n chips was under cooked.
