The place is in a old house converted into a restaurant. You can see they put their touches here and there on it. But the decorations was not the focal point. The BBQ was amazing! They serve it on a medium sized food tray with paper. Had the brisket and it was soooo good. They have their own BBQ sauce but the brisket was perfect the way it was. I tasted the sauce and it is a smoky sweet with a hint of spice. The sides I had were the Mac and cheese. It was the baked Mac and cheese, it was not creamy but I like it that way. Also had the macaroni salad and that was awesome too had I believe celery and egg and not overly creamy. The owner said hi and asked us how it was. Very Inviting place. I will have to go back to try the other items.
Visit BBQ Blessings! You won’t regret it! The food is mouthwatering good! Such a cute and welcoming atmosphere! The staff and owners are so friendly! We had the brisket, greens and macaroni. All so good. Even the grilled cheese our daughter had was the best she’s ever eaten!
Well this was a pleasant surprise to visit and dine at this new restaurant in the neighborhood! The service was outstanding. Very attentive and friendly. Prices were extremely fair. They were able to accommodate gluten free options and the flavors were outstanding. We will definitely be returning to dine in again! I will probably try the family meals to go as well. Welcome to Vancouver!
Got pork to go. Not shredded big chuncks hard to eat on the go. Not much flavor included sauce was from a bottle not home made. I could make better on my pellet grill. Not impressed paid 10 for half a pound of pork.
First time I went I enjoyed the beef brisket with beans , plus some delicious blueberry cobbler. Beans are very flavorful (not vinegary or sweet). Brisket was moist and tender. I like the BBQ sauce; not too spicy and not too sweet. Just right!I also had the chance to sample some of the house made sausage that will be coming to the menu soon. You can taste pepper, but it’s not hot.I liked the whole meal so much I went back again just a week later. This time I enjoyed the pulled pork tacos—and some blueberry cobbler. Buttery and delicious!
Stopped in with my husband for lunch. Food was great, I had brisket,ac and cheese and greens. Greens were delicious and well seasoned, hard to find good ones at most places. Husband had the ribs, beans, and buttered corn. Ribs were falling off the bone. Shared corn bread and blueberry dump cake also delicious. Enough about the food, let's talk about the people! Everyone from the waitress to the owner came and talked with us, making sure everything was good! You can tell they care about their customers and take pride in their work. We will be back!
Had to go see what the hype was about ! Kris and his wife have came a long way ! Food was amazing ! Ribs fell off the bone and everything else was super good! Go check them out if you haven’t .
Have eaten in the restaurant twice in the past week. Both times the food was exceptional. The Brisket is terrific and the sides were all good. The owner is a true BBQ Artist and takes pride in the product he serves. I’m a fan.
On an errand in the area, I see the holy letters BBQ, like a lighthouse sighted during a raging storm, although it is only raining a little. I do a fast U turn and hustle myself into the cute yellow bungalow to see what I can see and taste what I can taste. I will admit I ate recently, but BBQ is BBQ and such treasure should never be passed. Now BBQ is expensive, there's no denying this and the fact that $20 plus tip doesn't really buy you much more meat than a quick snack will not be held against them. Unless cash is falling out of your pockets, BBQ is always going to be a bit of an extravagance. Still, the three pieces of BBQ Ribs did look a little lonely sitting there on the plate. That why they give you two sides and this is where the problem arises. The baked beans are good, savory and sweet. My wife might hate me later, but I could eat a lot of these. But the Mac and Cheese was literally horrible. Bland, tasteless, blah... My tastebuds were as insulted as if they were a prom date taken to a McDonald's. If you're going to give filler to assuage the craving of our stomaches you need to put some thought into it. At the price, I want my cup of Mac and Cheese to sing to me like a nightingale. I want it to whisper I love you as I lay my head on my pillow. I've had better out of packages. The Ribs were great, 2-3 bites each and I liked the sauce. The place itself is cute as a bug's nose, I love these places that spring up in old houses like a sweet mix of old memories and hopeful dreams. I took a quick look at the lunch menu and I might give it a try for more mundane fare. A good BLT is about as close to God as I am ever likely to reach. As a BBQ joint, I'm taking the Mac and Cheese as a slap across the face. Either more meat, or better sides. It shows a lack of attention that does not speak of a passion for food.
Absolutely delightful! Came for breakfast for the grand opening and it was delicious! So nice that they also offer breakfast for the local community & neighborhood :)
