I loved the dining area! Freda Kahlo presides over the room like a lush latin queen! I thought, I've hit pay dirt! My wife will take to this place like a puppy to a pond. She loves Freda! She'll be thrilled! I even get the name, 4 Caminos, 4 roads, 4th Plain Rd! It's all designed with humor and grace. Nice interesting menu, some things I haven't seen before, I'm excited. The very nice waitress asks what I want to drink and I ask for iced tea... sorry, they don't have that, no biggie, I settle for water. So I go ahead order the Mexican Enchiladas. Then they bring me chips, and my heart sinks a little. I really had a hankering for chips today, that's why I opted for Mexican in the first place and though they look good, it's a miserly portion and is served with beans instead of salsa. The beans are okay, but I miss the bite of a good fresh salsa. This is still more or less ok. I'm expecting I'll get more chips later and am still looking forward to the enchiladas. When they arrive, they are very pretty, artfully put together. I ask for more chips and the waitress repeats chips and scurries off... There were no more chips coming.Like I said, they are pretty, although they look a little lonely sitting there on the plate like three pretty but isolated senoritas, all dressed up with flowers in their hair but nowhere to go. I suppose it is a Style. They were kind of dry and tough, I had a hard time cutting them up. The flavor was good, but they were miles away from what I expected. Maybe if they were served with some beans or something I could have mixed them around or smushed them up.I'm still waiting for chips... And now I'm waiting for water too. It's not like the waitress isn't around, she is serving people on both sides of me, but I must have become invisible. I feel like the place is mostly show. Lots of promise, but no commitment to actually pulling off the act. It's the first time I've left a Mexican restaurant feeling unsatisfied. It just felt a little stingy. I mean it's right down the street from MI CASA PUPUSERIA, a restaurant that excels in all the best ways, not as pretty, but better food, better service and a more down home feeling of welcome. So I feel the place has pretensions. They are trying to be more of a date place, a bit more upper crust, but they're missing some of the foundation needed to pull that off. The presentation is good, but the earthy and essential welcome is not there.I would not tell people not to go there, but I doubt I'll go back. There are simply too many better options.

Food was not good and the service was even worse. Strawberry margarita had chili powder and salt, even after us both asking for no salt. Our fajitas had some very unappealing sauce. Mine had sour cream, but my husband's plate was missing it. His had lettuce, mine didn't. Tortillas came a solid 5min after the food. Waitress never came to check on us, despite being the only people in the restaurant for half of our meal (that should have been a clue on a Saturday night). We had to track her down to even pay.

Visiting from out of town. I ordered 6 Asade and 6 pastor. Hands down ill be back. The home made tortillas and sauces made it. But the lady behind the counter was the cherry on top.Made me feel like a kid again. I will be back!

I would love to give them more stars, but based on our experience, one star. We ordered molcajete and it was so spicy we couldn't eat it... it was beyond spicy and it was listed as hell fire hot in their menu. Had they described it this way, we would have ordered something different. So we couldn't eat it after one bite. The server refused to replace the meal with something else, so we ended up paying for something we had to throw away. Also, the service was S L O W. For the money and experience, we won't return, which is sad. Had they done the right thing, my review would have been different.

4 Caminos has wonderful service. The owner, cook, and servers, put in so much effort to give a quality experience, and it shows. The food is delicious, and for the authenticity and portions, the prices are fair. With a full bar they can help you celebrate any occasion, and the menu is huge! They'll even accomadate for many of your needs.I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal and really an all around good time no matter how many people you bring along!

I go here regularly. It's the only place I know of in Vancouver that's good birria. And it's EXCELLENT. If you go there, GET THE BIRRIA!

Real Mexican food, the flavors are just like my tia cooking. Delicioso!

Excellent food. Friendly staff.

Quesobirria… will come back for that one over and over

sorry to say it but not again. Veg burrito says it has mushrooms but was 90 % rice and a few vegtables. fajitas has a good qty of meat and grilled onions but almost no beans or rice. No lettus, tomatoes or anything else so we were very disappointed for the price.
