Was in the area for work related business and stopped here for lunch with a coworker. I got the eel roll and it was very fresh, tasty, melt in my mouth delicious! Great brown sauce too, as well as the seaweed salad. Would love to come back and try more rolls.
Nigiri sushi only for lunch quite full easily. Recommend Sea Hawk and New York. Lunch $25
Fast service. Server told us about happy hour which was nice as we got a roll for free basically.
Most times they're fantastic , definitely don't skip out on this spot if you like affordable sushi ( with the ayce bar ). But with fresh ingredients and unique different chiefs you might get unlucky sometimes, however even on those days I have had a fairly enjoyable time.If you're here for dinner, the miles, marvelous, trump, barakade are fantastic and on my roster every time I visit. The premium rolls are a little cream cheese heavy so I recommend alternating between the premium ones and the long rolls
I started my meal with the kraken bloody mary. Very good toppers that were on it. Blood mary itself is okay, little salty side.Meal was chicken teriyaki and mt. Rainier roll. The chicken teriyaki was delicious but the portion is small compared to other teriyaki places, I wanted more. The Mt rainier roll is my favorite here. The creamy scallops that the roll is topped with is my favorite part. This roll is a must try.
I’ve been dining at Trappers for about 5 years now; and have visited every local location. My experience throughout the years had been mostly good; depending on staff and location. Overall I’ve seen improvements with the South Center location. I’m there just about every Wednesday for happy hour and have enjoyed my favorite roll (Mt. Rainier) along with the occasional sake bomb. The waitstaff is kind and efficient; the host/to go staff need improvement in their customer service. The sushi is very good depending on who’s making it ( it can be very heavy on the rice sometimes) and who is on the fryer. Overall; the best value is the AYCE option. However they tend to work slower than usual at the sushi bar during AYCE and the wait time is long depending what time you arrive.
This place have serious long wait time for their Sushi buffet. Make sure you call in beforehand. We called in, but still had to wait more than an hour to get called. Other than that their Sushi wasn’t bad even though I felt bloated the entire night.
Good value for All-You-Can-Eat sushi buffet in Southcenter.Pros:? Delicious sushi, creative and lots of variety.? Friendly and efficient service.? Fun and casual atmosphere? Good sushi buffet value at $35/person.?Generous portions? Dinner buffet includes both lunch/dinner menu options.Cons:? Long-wait time for buffet? Some ingredients/items may not be available due to stock and high demand.? Ken's Takeaway:Went to Trapper's to try out their AYCE (All-You-Can-Eat) sushi dinner buffet which was $35/person (they also have a lunch buffet). When I arrived, there was already a long waiting list and my spot was saved. I hung out at the mall and the wait was about an hour and 15 minutes. Recommend to possibly call ahead of time to reserve a spot. The buffet was at the bar and not in the dining area. When I arrived, I was seated at the bar by my server Jesse and he was very friendly and welcoming. He introduced me to sushi chef Hunter who was very attentive to my requests and menu orders. I asked him for his recommendations and he gave feedback on some of his favorites, including specialty rolls the "Trump" as well as "Miles". I was fascinated by the use of the blowtorch as he seared some of the sushi and let me take some pictures while he was preparing the rolls. I ended up ordering two appetizers (the Trappers Bites and Tempura Shrimp), two nigiris, and five rolls total.Overall, I was very satisfied by the quality of the food and the portions were surprisingly generous! (I was amazed at the amount of pieces per specialty roll.) The different varieties were interesting and it was fun trying out the different ingredients that made up the specific rolls. I guess one of the only downsides was that they were out of some ingredients (scallop and mackerel nigiri), but that was understandable considering the demand and available stock (I was there around 7pm).I think what was the best part of the whole experience was the value. I know $35/person might sound like a lot but if it was a standard dinner menu order, it would have cost more since some rolls started at around $12-15 each, depending on if it's special. So having a total of five rolls, two nigiri, and two appetizers was a fair amount of food for the price.? Would I come back?Yes, I would! I think the overall quality and value that you get from the AYCE buffet is worth it, as long as you have a good appetite and craving for sushi. Don't try it out if you're not too hungry which would not make it worth the price. Also, plan ahead of time for possible long wait times and call in to see if you can save a spot. The fun and low-key atmosphere was also very welcome and the attentiveness of the staff, both on the servers and sushi chef-side was commendable.I had a great experience and am looking forward to coming back again for another round of AYCE and to try the other creative sushi rolls.Special thanks to my server Jesse and sushi chef Hunter for making my experience a delightful one! ??
This chain has always had consistent quality food, but what really made our experience 5 star was our server Anthony Palacio. We weren't sure which rolls were good, so we told Anthony to pick his favorites and give those to us. He did not disappoint!! The rolls were delicious and the conversation was excellent. Thank you Anthony! I really hope your boss sees this!
great food not so great service. lots of other sushi places all around it. we would definitely try another trapper's location
