I walked in having no idea what I was ordering. I used the App "Eat Okra" to find a black owned restaurant in the area. This place has East African food. So delicious. I had the Chicken Suqaar. It came with chicken, vegetables, and what i believe were crepes. I thought about being daring and having liver or kidney, but I went with chicken.
Bad service & the farthest thing from ethiopian food ive ever tasted. They lied and said they had tibs & what i got tastes like Indian curry. Not what i asked for and unnecessarily expensive.
Don’t judge a book by its cover. Looks like a hole in the wall but the food is great. Pandemic hit within a few months of finding this place but we manage to do a takeout every 2 months. Goat is a little tough if you aren’t used to it. Our go to dishes are the chicken suqqar with rice, Kati Kati beef and the lamb shanks with rice. We also usually get a side of the goat soup (broth), spinach, and if available, the sambusas. Their spiced tea is great but note that sugar will be added if you don’t request otherwise. My kids love the rice.Placing an order over the phone is sometimes hard since it’s always noisy so make sure to have your order confirmed. Your order number is the last 4 of the number you called from.
First time getting food from here and it was super good! Definitely coming back again
Abshir and staff were kind and welcoming. The food is plentiful and DELICIOUS. The injera has a wonderful sourness to it. The goat was tender and tasty. I am already planning my next trip there!
The rice in the lamb shanks are delicious!!!I absolutely love this place!
Ordered the chicken suqoor and the chicken steak earlier and I've been having serious diarrhea. Astagfir I knew this time the quality and taste were a bit off but this is absolutely horrendous. $30 for a small box.
I ordered the lamb shank to go, as I was in the car on the way home I could smell and feel the spices - I knew it was going to be good. The flavors were absolutely delicious and the best in the area. It was flavorful and had a good balance of spices. My only complaint is that the lamb shank was still tough and not tender. I had to throw it in my pressure cooker to get it fork tender. My suggestion, cook the lamb shank longer and on low heat to get it to fall off the bone or use a pressure cooker to save yourself time!

Lamb shank is great. Goat meat could be more tender. One serving will feed two persons
