The first time I came to this restaurant I was pleasantly surprised, but that was prior to Covid. I went today and was not at all impressed. The prices are ridiculously high for the food that they serve and the food was not at all delicious. I was incredibly disappointed not only by the food but by the service. I had to ask for napkins, I had to ask for silverware, I had to ask for water, and every single time I had to hunt the server down as she was nowhere to be found. Stick to El Rincosito where it’s fast, inexpensive and delicious. Azteca is a disappointment and I will not be back.

For my celebratory Feast with THE KING, I ordered several pieces of food including the Palto Mexicana and the full Nachos dish for myself, and a dish for my wife. I was surprised by the amount of food that was given to me AND I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE ORDER OF FOOD.I couldn't help myself and dug into the Nachos with in the first minute upon seeing them. The cheese and shredded chicken, not that non-AUTHENTIC grilled chicken, was amazing. Eating with just my hands was not enough, I had to use a fork to consume more of the nacho GOODNESS FASTER. IT IS REAL MELTED CHEESE, NONE OF THAT FAKE QUESO CHEESE. I was unable to pull myself away from this amazing flavor combinations, though I didn't put the sour cream and GAC on it as I believe it would have been too much. After finishing all of the Nachos, which I couldn't stop, I was left with a pit in my stomach as I was still HANGRY FOR MORE.Next, I moved into the Palto, by starting with the Chili Reano, which I thought was chicken by the SIZE OF IT. It was good, but not AS SPICY AS I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE. I was surprised by the breading and how HUGE it was. MOUTH SAVORING GOOD. I was able to finish this side before I moved to the PROTIEN of the meal Carna asada. Now I consumed the Carna Asada, also known as MEXICAN STEAK. It is so good, and the Char flavor is not painted on like other places. Sadly, I couldn't eat all of the steak because I have an Acid IMBALANCE IN MY BODY.The Grilled Japleen Pepper was hot, like I assumed it would be, but it was good, but was too much for me. THE TACOQITO was nice and solid, no sag to this one, and was good and very flavorful. The crunch from the Taconite was amazing and I didn't stop till it was all gone. As expected, I was able to finish the Taquito in several bites and mixing it with salsa was good combination. The enchilada was MEH, as it feels like a snack to me not a full meal as advertised. It was better dipped in salsa and sour cream than being eaten without any sauce. It feels like the same was Cheese sticks at an Italian restaurant. For the finale, I picked the Rice and Beans dish to consume. I LOVE their black beans, yoo I love their flavorful black beans. YUM CRAZY GOOD BEANS. And this is the end of the meal, finishing off the rice and beans for this meal.OVERALL, I GIVE THIS 5 STARS OUT OF 5!!!

I was pleasantly surprised by Azteca. The staff was friendly and so fast. The food was tasty but I didn’t care for the margarita, it was very sweet. We tried the burrito blanco and the burrito dos amigos. Both were good but we definitely both favored the dos amigos. The sauce on my burrito wasn’t quite hot enough but other than that the experience was good.

Good food and good service. Great friendly staff. Love the food and drinks ! Decent prices .... Whats not to love

I always go to Azteca when traveling to or from the airport. It’s become a tradition, however the food and service is very inconsistent. Sometimes it’s amazing and sometimes I swear I won’t come back. The last time I went the waiter argued the wording of the menu with me, it’s printed there, I don’t understand the argument.(Fish tacos state you can have either whole pinto, black, or refried beans and either plain or Mexican rice but I was told I could not have the options I asked for, even though I was willing to pay extra, and even though the menu states the options are available.) Another time my friend ordered heat meal with no crema and the waitress argued with her saying “you don’t want sour cream? It comes with it. Everyone likes sour cream.” Yet other times *with these same exact servers* we’ve had excellent service. Business doesn’t seem to be a factor, nor does time of day.

Service was friendly, however the food was meh. I had steak fajitas that were not exciting and mostly onions. It was OK, but there are lots of places with really great Mexican food that I will go to instead.

The service is excellent, very friendly, and attentive. The restaurant is nice, clean and comfortable. But the food does not have good seasoning, it is very simple, the hibiscus water is super sweet, the cream chicken is more onion than chicken or mushrooms and it has no flavor, and the vegetarian burrito is quite spicy and tasteless, they do not have the taste of Mexican food.

It wasn't bad. It was took a while to get a seat. And longer to get a drink and then food order taken. But I'll chalk it up to the windy stormy conditions. And a nearby power outage. They were pretty busy. The food was good. The order was right. The server was friendly and attentive.

This is a great place to go when you want to eat out and get spoiled, but you don't have a lot of money to spend. Yes their prices have gone up, like everything else this past year and a half, but they are still at the same somewhat cheap ratio to other places. When I lived here 10+ years ago the Southcenter Azteca was one of my favorite places to eat and I was happy to find that they really haven't changed much. They serve an Americana style of Mexican food that is made simply and deliciously. My favorite items are their chicken taco soup and their enchiladas. You can even get one of their many enchilada sauces on a different dish of your choice (I love the mole sauce on my tamales, for instance). I also love, love, love their salsa! They even sell it in pint or larger sizes if you want to take some home. And the food comes to you amazingly fast, without compromising the quality. You're not going to find "authentic Mexican peasant food" or a "fine dining experience" here, but what they do, they do well.Good food, decent prices, friendly staff, and a relaxed atmosphere all make this a lovely place to eat with your friends, family, or for that 2nd or 3rd date.
