Several points to like about Wooden City: the wings and Hungarian peppers were very tasty and worth trying; the lamb bolonase had all the right flavors in a right-sized portion; the pizzas tasted good but the slices were a bit mushy on the bottom. Our server was overwhelmed or distracted and didn't seem to know what part of the meal we were eating. She brought us our check before we could order dessert or drinks and did the same to the next table. Yes, it's trendy and popular, but needs work to hire the right or more serving staff.

Can’t wait to go back! Loved the ambiance and all the food and drinks we had. We had some of the signature cocktails- Watermelon Sundae, Bramble and Happy Days. The Watermelon Sundae was our favorite! For starters we shared the smoke salmon toast and the burrata. Both dishes were amazing! The toast was beautiful and delicious and the burrata was so flavorful and unique! For entrees we had the lamb bolognese and beet ravioli. The ravioli was the most unique dish and couldn’t stop eating it. Although we were pretty full, we had to try the desserts. We ordered the chocolate custard and cheesecake. The custard was devoured. The cheesecake flavor was great but the texture was off. Overall, a wonderful dining experience!

Michael, our server, was extremely attentive and kind! The food was excellent, with a nice happy hour menu and full dinner menu there is plenty to pick from. I thought it was cool that the Old Fashions are on tap. I would recommend making a reservation, as even at 4pm on a Thursday it filled up very fast! The peel-able shrimp were tasty with a Cajun feel to them. The marinara on the cheesy bread was excellent and a little tangy. I loved the Spring Salad, it was refreshing and had the perfect portions to get flavor in each bite. Will definitely come again!

Disappointing! After about one and half hours we got a table. It was not a table but the countertop of the kitchen. We were watching the people working at kitchen which was not a clean and desired view when eating. The food was not good at all. I got a Fancy burger that was raw with no spice and one of my friends got an awful pizza. The only positive point was our nice server. I am sure will not be back for food?

The Lamb Bolognese was amazing! Also Caesar salad very fresh and zesty! Great service, very friendly. Hip atmosphere. Good for date night or groups.

I been here a few times now and it's always been a good experience. The prices are steep for me personally but I never have buyers remorse when I do treat myself to The Wooden City♡ The Salmon Toast is my favorite. I get sad when my Salmon Toast is almost all gone.

Made an online reservation a few weeks out. Started driving to Tacoma an hour before the reservation and route 3 was dead stopped and navigation said it would take 2 hours to get to Wooden City. Bummed we were going to have to cancel, but a friendly voice answered the phone and was able to move our reservation by 2 hours. We pressed on. Finally arrived and we were seated promptly in the outside, heated tent. The server arrived within seconds and took a drink order. The food menu is limited, but don’t let that fool you, the food is all really good. While I didn’t find the wings very special, the burrata starter was beyond delicious. I would return for that alone. Also shared a pizza and we both really enjoyed it. Service was spot on very attentive. I look forward to returning again (and sitting inside) to try more of the menu. The pork entree sounded delicious. Definitely worth checking out.

Lovely place for decent food and drinks. I tried peel and eat shrimp, bone marrow, tavern burger, surf and turf, pork chop, lamb pasta, pumpkin cake, and cocktails. Everything was delicious, but burger was my favorite so far! So good. It’s always a busy busy place, but the still like the ambiance and service. You really gotta make a reservation though.

My wife wants to do a top 12 restaurants in Washington to visit (some magazine, not sure which) and this was on it. Two current locations, Tacoma, Spokane, and soon, Knoxville Tenn? Small place, so walk ins are tough, tried to make reservations through Resy four days ahead of time, but already booked. Showed up when they opened at 4 PM and they sat us right away, 20 minutes later, there was a line of people waiting. Has an outdoor seating area with heaters along the main drag, which helped get some people in. Very trendy spot along the lower area of Pacific Ave, many other places to eat right around it. Food is pizza plus, yeah it is a pizza place, but not the Cloverleaf, more of a personal-fancy pizza place. I had the "fancy" hamburger, very good. Four in our party, others had wings and a Cesar Salad, shared a cheese bread appetizer, which was very good, but small, so for four people you might want two. Service is outstanding, as good as it gets. People were friendly, attentive, but not bothersome. Went out of their way to make us happy. A little pricey for what you get. It is good and we would go back, but not worth standing in line for.
