Best king salmon I’ve ever had period. It’s so damn good I’ll overlook the smallest oysters I’ve ever had. At 18 bucks for 1/2 a dozen these little guys really aren’t worth it. But the grilled king salmon I can eat endlessly. It’s that delicious.Clam chowder had an insane amount of clams in it.5 star peddler, 5 stars you amazing fishy guy you.
I loved this spot! We had excellent, friendly & attentive service. I’ve heard the fish and chips are good here so I came with high expectations and they definitely deserve the rave they get. Very fresh, and the fries are yummy too! It was also nice that there was free parking for customers in their own parking lot, and right on the water by the walking path.
We love this place! The service is always on point and the food is delicious! My husband has the steamed clams and I had the steelhead tacos. We started with the seafood dip that comes with tortilla chips but our waitress said having it with bread is far better. We went with her suggestion and it was amazing! We had a couple of their Marionberry cocktails which were strong but delicious.
This is our second visit here, and the food was once again quite wonderful. We started off with the bacon wrapped prawns, followed by a cup of soup and chowder respectively, then finished with halibut and chips. Both of us devoured our fish! The slaw is quite delightful, and isn't spicy, despite having jalapeños in the ingredients. I also had Marionberry Lemon Drop. 10/10 would order again. Our server was lovely, and as attentive as she could be, despite the restaurant being packed with a standing wait. We both look forward to dining here again! (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
Went on Sat am at opening - 11am. Table we were sat at was dirty. Waiter came with menu's dropped them right on top of the food crumbs from the night before. Turned off right away. We also watched as the waiter picked his teeth, took a phone call on his cell and then served food without washing hands. I am not a germ freak, but it was pretty gross to watch. Halibut fish/chips was ok. I was expecting better based on all the good reviews. Our go to fish/chips is usually Steamers, Tides, or Wallys in Des Moines. IMO, this was not even close. Clam chowder has ham in it, so if you are Pescatarian - forget the chowder. Slaw is made with jalapeno - I would prefer traditional slaw. It wasn't horrible, it wasn't great. Just uneventful for $80 lunch, won't be back.
I was craving seafood and The Fish Peddler was a great choice. It was busy on a late Sunday afternoon, but our waitress did a great job and our food was delicious. It's also easy walking distance from the Glass Museum, which is nice.I had the calamari appetizer, whiskey smash, and the seafood boil, all of which I'd recommend. The seafood stew and fettuccine also received high praise at our table.
Yesterday my wife, adult daughter and I stopped at The Fish Peddler for lunch. Daughter had the fish tacos, wife and I shared a cesar salad and crab cakes, and I had the soup of the day, a seafood chowder. Then we finished with the excellent bread pudding. All was superb. I particularly liked the soup of the day. None of us is from Tacoma, all from Seattle or suburban Kirkland.
Perfect place for a family meal, date night, or a night out with friends. A few if the dishes We tried are the crab cakes, Dungeness crab Mac and cheese, and the Wagyu beef burger. Oh they also have a kids menu that has other things on it besides seafood. They don't take reservations but it was worth the wait !
Sat at the bar and had their raw oysters and clam chowder. Oysters were amazing and a decent size. Pairs very well with Odin beer (has a dinosaur on the tap) Clam chowder was very filling, hits the the spot on a cold day. Make sure to get large bowl. Will definitely come back here again.
Walked to this casual seafood restaurant from my nearby hotel. I had fast friendly service and the food was enjoyable and local. As good as the trout was, the veggies and beurre blanc were the show stoppers. Also worth mentioning there’s a nice waterside walk along the Foss Waterway right beside the restaurant.
