After seeing the article on the News Tribune, we decided to check this place out. We were blown away by how good it is! The crust alone was the best I've ever had! We ended up trying 3 of the daily special slices and they were incredible. We loved it so much that we ordered an entire pie a few days later! It was definitely worth the drive from South Hill, we will be back for sure!

Had NYC pizza in NY before and it’s my favorite … it is hard to find especially so far from there but this does it for us!1st time customers today!Slices are huge, cheese is gooey , crust is the right amount of crisp but still perfect for fold ability like an NY pizza should be. The whole pies are MASSIVE!You get to see them being made which is so cool especially if you have kids with you!We had pepperoni and the chef special which was pesto salami jalapeño ?????Sit upstairs for a cool view below !Sign up for the slice app and go in 11-1 for the lunch special two slices and a can soda or non alcoholic seltzer is a steal!Staff was friendly as hell and they seem to be happy to work there that kind of energy transfers to our (the customers) food so we appreciate that a lot love to see the smiling faces that aren’t forced !Went with my son today and we felt like the ninja turtles eating the pizza we will be frequenting this spot more !

About as Tacoma as it gets, corner of 1st & S. Tacoma, right around the corner from Stadium Thriftway. No frills, just great pizza.Traditional pies are all 18", gluten free are 14" wide. Every pizza on the menu is delicious.I like to walk in, order, shop, and eat one, sometimes two slices right there and take the rest home.Delivery available via 3rd party services.

This place can get busy and for good reason. Probably the best pizza I’ve had on the west coast. Huge pies and slices that are authentic tasting New York style pizza. You can even order toppings half half as long as it’s the same sauce. It can take a bit of a wait but Incan assure you it will be worth it.

Ok so my husband, from Jersey, has been searching for an authentic New York style pizza for over 10 years here, and craving it so much! So happy we finally found this place! Not gonna lie, we did order during high peak on a Friday, So we were “warned” of high wait time, so we waited (A good while) for our pizzas hehe. But after tasting the first bite my husband said he would have waited another hour lol! So looks like they get his stamp of approval. He loves it! It was very tasty and we certainly will become regulars! He really enjoyed the flavorful sauce and the dough was cooked just perfectly!

I had high hopes for this pizza. It looked great at first, but it ended up being incredibly bland. Add in the raw dough and weird curdled white sauce, and you have easily the worst pizza in Tacoma. Avoid this place if you're looking for a flavorful slice.

MY FEEDBACK TO GET 5 STARS1) Take Apple Pay. It’s really convenient and a large population of the food business accepts it.2)Get a better sound system and play music. This place is a nice and small. But sometimes it gets really awkward when it’s quite. (Even if it’s busy).3)Grandma slices need to be more like the ones from NYC or Chicago. (If you been there you’ll know how they should look and taste). Example: their more fluffy and fat in the east coast.4) Get better air condition. It gets really hot up stairs. Other than that the first floor is okay.5) Fix your squeaky stairs.Other than that… Your pizza slices are the best in town. They taste just like if they were made in NYC. I bring my family of 3 almost every other week. We even enjoy eating the whole pepperoni pie for ourselves! ??

From the Midwest. This is hands down the best pizza Ive had since moving here a few months ago, there is a reason this place has a 4.6. It should be a 5.0 great pizza crew!

About freaking time I found a great pizza place. It only took me 4 years and had to go all the way to Tacoma to find it. At first I was skeptical, then I had the first slice, and one single tear rolled down my cheek. Finally— finally a place I can get a decent slice!!!!! You won’t find any better in the Tacoma and Seattle area, you just won’t.

So, having lived on the east coast for 25 years, I became accustomed to east coast / NY style pizza.Moving to the west coast, pizza is a whole different animal in this part of the country.Needless to say, finding Salamone's was a welcome discovery.Like almost any pizzeria you'd find in NY or other pizza-centric spot, it's not fancy. It is however the real pizza deal if you are a refugee from the Eastern seaboard of the US and want a bite of something familiar.Good sauce/crust/cheese and no pineapple pizza.
