If you like good baked goods (from Moonrise Bakery), solid coffee, and friendly service, ignore the chain coffee shop right across the street and come here. They'll chat you up while making your coffee and will never rush you (event with a line out the door). Their almond croissant (called "twice baked") is hands down the best sweet croissant I've ever had. Sometimes the baking is unevenly proofed, but it still tastes the same. They do use plastic-coated paper cups but will happily take your reusable mug. In addition, all their bags and boxes are paper. Plenty of vegetarian baked goodness.
My favorite coffee shop in Tacoma. Great people and atmosphere
Great espresso! They have a unique selection of beans (single-origin) and the baristas are very welcoming.
My favorite place for coffee! Plus the pastries are amazing. They have so many kinds of croissants and every single one i have tried has blown me away!
The coffee shop is cute, clean with minimalist decor; the space is on the smaller side with max capacity 37 when the bench seating is open (currently roped off during pandemic). The staff were friendly and provided great customer service. The shop does not carry syrup flavors to customize beverage choice other than the two options they had when we were there this morning; housemate vanilla and orange brulee. My daughter ordered the vanilla, my son-in-law chose the orange brulee mocha and I ordered the mocha. All three of us agreed that the flavor was nearly non-existent, incredibly watery tasting and definitely underwhelming to the point that two of us threw out our full cups (I had one sip, my daughter tasted hers a couple of times then tasted mine). We are not fans of the quality of the chain coffee shop across street as their beans always taste burned so I was very hopeful when I saw this shop. Unfortunately it turned out to be a wasteful way to spend $20 + tip. I really wanted to like this shop.
The coffee Is so, so good. Even their almond milk lattes taste amazing- which is saying something since typically almond milk lattes taste like dirt ? IMO the best coffee in town.
Mask mandate is currently in affect in Pierce county and I am a STAUNCH supporter of this. I will not stand to be verbally accosted by a barista for taking my mask down for literally three seconds to take a bite of something that I just purchased, especially when there are two children in the same environment with NO masks and you say nothing to their parent. I will no longer be patronizing this establishment, as it’s clear that it’s a priority for your baristas to accost paying adults than to call out hypocrisy of people with kids that are allowed to just run amuck with no regards to public health and safety.
Delicious coffee creations. They offer a limited food selection, but the squash seeded bread was excellent. This shop isn't in my neighborhood, but I will definitely go again.
Good floral highlights in there coffee. One of the best roasters in Washington. My only issue is that this location has limited and uncomfortable seating. Even before the pandemic.
Location and coffee are amazing! I do wish they had other flavor choices like caramel but I tend to get there seasonal drink every time. Go for the coffee/tea that’s it, food is either pricey or lacking.
