amazing place just what we were looking for.
Absolutely delicious. Love the small town feel. Almost had 5 stars but the toddler booster chairs felt like 20 years of grease on them. Food is amazing. Service was great. Wait time is worth it.
Amazing chicken fried steak breakfast. It reminded me of home; Texas. Husband had biscuits and gravy breakfast. It was so very good. We had hot chocolate I was already snout deep in the whipped cream burning my tongue on it before I realized I didn't get a pic of it ?. It was great. Super friendly staff and service.
Fantastic food! The portions are large. Be prepared to take home leftovers. Small dining area. The restaurant was busy and full when we got there. We waited about 20 minutes for a table. The staff if wonderful and attentive. My coffee was always hot, the food came out hot and was delicious!
1st timer to this establishment & Hands down best breakfast I've had in Tacoma. Small place so go early but worth a wait. Make sure you go hungry!! Menu is fairly robust which is always a great sign for a breakfast place. Portions are insane, sausage gravy is homemade and amazing!!! Chicken fried steak was so great & eggs were cooked exact and coffee stayed full. Lady sitting next to me got one of the skillets and it could easily feed 3 people and she said it was as good as it looked. There was a lady and gentleman waiting tables and for a short time also doing dishes and they were on it and were friendly and charismatic and working their tails off, never wanted for anything!!! If you love good homemade food w/large portions & great people give these guy a try!!!
Thank you for breakfast!!I discovered this place about 10 years ago and it's my favorite guilty pleasure location. It's not very big and there is always a wait but it's so worth it!They cook just like grandma☺️Value of food is perfect for the price. Be kind and polite when you go because they take good care of you. Be prepared for a to-go box because the food is filling
Very good food and a lot of it!! was well worth the wait!?
Incredible food, great staff, and fun vibe.
This can be an easy place to miss since the signs are small. But it’s right next to the Lucky Silver lounge. It is really small and can be crowded around brunch time. But staff are super sweet and the food is great. I had the chicken fried steak and it was great! This used to be a Tacoma secret but folks have caught on!
Getting there was like driving through a dystopian apocalyptic nightmare. Between the barren dirty industrial terrain and the homeless encampments, it didn’t look like the kind of area you’d want your car to break down in. And then there is Marcia’s itself, I mean the place looks like a dump. Honestly it could be a movie set for a dust bowl movie. And personally, I’m getting excited. The place has got great reviews and it has all the makings of a true diamond in the rough! The kind of place tragic soon to be famous authors hang out in while getting literary rejections.None of it could be better scripted for a true surprise treasure, it’s the archetype of Hole in the Wall, stuff you face, breakfast joints! So, my Chicken Fried Steak is exactly what I was hoping, big, savory, tons of hash browns, great gravy. I love the condiment tray, three different kinds of hot sauce… almost everything a man could want for culinary nirvana. My wife however is not so thrilled. She gets the eggs benedict and later in the car she says, I don’t know what that was, but it wasn’t hollandaise sauce. What kind of sauce was it? I ask, and she responds, congealed and tasteless. Now the woman loves eggs benedict. It’s her go to dish at breakfast places and I was crushed. If the benedict was perfect then the dirty windows and crumbling walls would be worth it. The shabby furnishings and jumbled surroundings would just act as a decoy to keep the tourists away.I would rejoice in the mess and put the place on my traveling map. It only loses one star because I loved my breakfast, everyone has a bad day once in awhile and I so much want this place to be my discovery of the year.I’d give it a second shot, but it’s going to a long time before I venture back into the barren plains of Tacoma.Give it a chance. Try the eggs Benedict and let me know if they’ve improved.
