Took over a half hour to receive our order of two 1/2 lb combos when literally only one other couple was in the restaurant at the time. Mac n cheese is greasy and tasteless noodles. Didn't get the sauces I requested with my chicken.
I had the 3 piece strips with a side of Mac & cheese. I ordered an extra side of fried okra. A dinner roll came with the order. The chicken strips were ok (I've had better), I was pleasantly surprised by the Mac & cheese. The okra was phenomenal. Next time I think I'll try a regular chicken dinner to see how it is. Worth the stop. $23 bucks with a medium drink. Not bad at all.
I'm normally optimistic when I rate places. And I really want to highly rate these guys; unfortunately, I honestly can't. I've been there 3x in the last year. Each time their famous chicken has been tough and chewy as leather. Sadly, their service was also subpar. I was hoping the third time would be a charm but once again disappointment. Safeway has moisture and tastier fried chicken and at a much better price point. I wish them the best.
Over all fantastic customer service. Mac and cheese and slaw were good but the chicken and mash potatoes were nothing but. The chicken was dry and flavorless. The mash potatoes have to have salt to taste better. It was an ok experience, coming from the south east where soul food is a staple this is less to be desired.
I've came to this Ezells 3/4 times. Every time I get my food it's underwhelming. My roll is burnt and hard. Baked beans are crunchy. Mashed potatoes taste like they were frozen. Mac and cheese has zero flavor. I wish I was exaggerating. But this location ain't it. Definitely not like the ones in Seattle.
2nd time fail and not going to give it a 3rd. Quality needs to be checked more regular. Mac n cheese noodles were overcooked, made for a mushy treat. Mashed tatoes n gravy were luke warm and served with a half baked potato. Sad to say but banquet spicy chicken was spicier and not overcook/burnt. The adult chicken tenders were the size of McDonald's chicken nuggets.Friendly staff though.
The chicken is fabulous, the coleslaw is delicious, and the dinner rolls are scrumptious. Best chicken you'll find anywhere. The restaurant is clean and staff friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Ezell's.
Should have read reviews first.. thought I would surprise My wife with Ezell's chicken to go with our browned butter mazithra spaghetti.. I ate one piece she ate part of one piece.. overcooked,skin under coating was like leather, I think they forgot to season it.. I usually give food Three strikes..unless it is horrible.. I purchased 8 pieces..pitched 6.. rolls were amazing!! Oh.. they were out of peach cobbler also..
Food arrives quicker than anywhere else! The house sauces are flavorful. I love the spicy tenders. The rolls are consistently soft and fresh. Need to stop ordering thru delivery apps & go in person so I can tip y’all directly:) Very satisfied!
Used to be a great place to go get some great chicken. And. Staff very slow very inconsistent they seem dazed and confused I waited 35 minutes for a pound of chicken tenders When I finally asked how much longer it would be they told me up to another 10 minutes I asked for a refund and left. No one ever had the courtesy to tell me when my waiting as they told numerous other customers no one even apologized. The manager had the biggest attitude overall and her employees were acting the same way
