Went to the bar for a Friday night drink and food, lots of good things here. first, the views of Tacoma and commencement Bay are fantastic and lots of tables in the downstairs bar with window views. Food was good, maybe even a little better than good. The hamburger was top notch, cooked well with lots of flavor. the fries were low end, shoestring, really not very good for a $27 burger and fries. Service was solid, but not spectacular. The place needs a series facelift. Carpets are worn out, tables are old and wobbly. This could be a high end place once again, but feels like it has passed its prime. We will likely try it for a fine dining upstairs dinner at a later date, but right now, the downstairs bar if solid, but nothing to get excited about.
We all had the prawns and scallop dinner. Overall the taste was great. However, the serving size was small with three small scallopps and the prawns although stated to be jumbo were more like medium to small. We were not offered any bread with out meal but noticed other tables were being provided bread baskets. Drinks were good. This is a pricey restaurant for what you get.
Had a great dinner tonite to celebrate my wife's birthday.Started with ceasar salad for me and a wedge for her. Also ordered the sourdough bread. It is extra but worth it. Make sure to order the small salads as they are filling.She had the shrimp/scallop risotto and I had the filet with garlic shrimp. Filet was cooked perfect and very flavorfully. Wife said her dinner was very good also.Server was Angela. Outstanding.Highly recommend this restaurant.
What an amazing place and a wonderful experience. Though they weren’t able to find our reservation they still accommodated us and got us a table quickly. The service was amazing with the server constantly checking up on us even though it was packed. The food was the best part, very flavorful, perfectly cooked, and well seasoned. We went for dinner and it was a very romantic vibe and an amazing atmosphere would recommended it to anyone.

Brought my wife here for Valentine’s Day. I was too late for getting a reservation, but we had zero wait for a table for two in the bar area. Our server, Bret was incredible, the food was delicious, and the view is outstanding! There’s not one thing I can say negative about the food, staff or restaurant in general. Restroom was even nice and clean. Again, Bret was awesome, thanks! I highly recommend this place for a romantic evening, or just a tasty steak/seafood dinner??

I had the fish and chips, the fries were over salted but still ate them, the fish was perfectly cooked and a nice crust to it. The people in my party had adult beverages, most gave reference to their cocktails being too strong. However if you're into that it's a good thing. If you are into the flavor and what not I could see that distracting from the enjoyment. We had kids with us, they had booster seats but didn't have child friendly cups. We resorted to giving them water from a straw while an adult held the cup for the 1.5 yo. The server brought some holiday themed kiddo activities for our 4 yo, which helped keep her occupied until food arrived. It would have been nice to have a high chair for the 1.5yo but we managed with a booster that wasn't secured, I just kept my arm around him and at the ready. Overall it was a good experience, I would go there again. The server and wait staff support were nice, cordial, and helpful to our needs. We got a nice spot with a view over the sound, which is why you go there. While we were there someone proposed and to their excitement their lady said yes.
I've lived in the pnw all my life. Seafood is a commonality out here and it's arguably some of the best you can buy. Cliff house represents that statement well, the lobster was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The dish was filling and reasonably priced for the amount of food you can buy. The service is good, and the view is one of the best you will get in this area! Definitely recommend checking this place out if you consider yourself a foodie
