We've been going to The Barrel for years and have always loved your restaurant, service and food. However, in March (2 different visits) and again on Mother's Day the food was lackluster, poorly prepared, and definitely trimmed down in portion size from all the other times we've frequented your restaurant. It wasn't just a few months ago we raved about your restaurant as we did all the times before. We don't know what has changed but something has definitely been off in terms of quality of food. We've always felt the service, ambiance and food justified the cost but that is no longer the case and it will be a long while before we consider returning let alone recommend your restaurant anymore. That said the service is superb as is the ambiance, but the lackluster food has left a bad taste in our mouth and our pocketbook. I loathe writing this review because we've ALWAYS rated you as our No #1 restaurant in Spokane.

My husband, our one year old and I tried The Barrel tonight and were very impressed. Our waitress( I forget her name) was phenomenal and so helpful. Our daughter is allergic to dairy, egg, garlic and nuts, so our waitress brought out all kinds of things that she was able to eat. We really appreciated that she cared and was so accommodating. My husband and I tried the stuffed mushrooms and coconut prawns for appetizers. The prawns were our favorite. They are massive! Then we shared the surf and turf meal which is so much food!! You get soup or salad, some of the best sourdough bread I’ve ever had, a 14oz ribeye and 1/2lb crab legs with a choice of a side (we chose cheesy mashed potatoes) and it’s all delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly and was so tender. We also ordered a slice of mud pie to go for dessert later at home and it was amazing too! We will definitely be going back and will definitely recommend this place to others.
Went here for dinner on Saturday evening and had a great experience. Exquisite service and the food was out of this world. Wonderful time and we will most certainly be back for more!
We went for a birthday dinner & had a great dinner that far exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed a salmon dinner together with cocktails & superb service. We look forward to going again soon.
Easily the best burger in Spokane. Drinks are off the chain… elderflower Collins is highly recommended.
Great steak selections as well as seafood options. Worth waiting for a table or getting a seat at the bar. We had three different orders and they were all wonderful. Staff was very friendly as well.

Alex was right, the chowder is amazing!! Also, so is the service. We drove 90 minutes to visit family, we were hungry on the way home and would do the trip again just for the food. Great steak, great atmosphere, great chowder and excellent service. Thank you so much!
