First time eating at skippers tonight and I must say.... I'm impressed. I had fish, popcorn shrimp, and fries. The fish was flavorful and cooked perfectly and this is coming from someone who dislikes cod. The popcorn shrimp is to die for. Lastly the fries.... They have the best fries I've had. Owner and employees are very friendly, passionate, and care about customers.
Still amazing like it was when I was a kid! They still have all you can eat meals too! The popcorn shrimp and fried clams are delicious and fresh. Friendly and fast customer service. Large potions compared to the smaller baskets in the past. It was worth the price, definitely. Love this place!
The product was given to me with such care in the presentation and quality of preparedness and I will definitely be making special trips back to this location. It's a long travel for us but this may just become the old Sunday favorite we enjoyed back in the day.
We love skippers! The owner Lalo is super nice and does a great job there. Super affordable tasty fish and shrimp dishes you’d expect ? ?.On Tuesday’s they have a really good fish taco special, I highly recommend.
First visit with the new owners and definitely coming back! Our food was freshly cooked, arrived quickly, and tasted delicious! The fries remind me of the chips I'd get at a chippy or pub when living in England. The staff were amazing, helpful, quick to greet you, friendly and said goodbye when we left. The restaurant was clean! Overall a great dine-in experience.We had visited back when Monroe was under construction and during Covid restrictions to support a local business and the previous owner was extremely rude both times, the restaurant was dirty & the food was not good, so we had decided to not return, but once we heard there was new owners and heard so many good things about the place I'm so glad we decided to try them again!
I am so very impressed! I was told there were new owners and I should try going here. Spotlessly clean. Prices were very reasonable even before the discount for 1st responders.The food was great. The fries, chicken and fish were hot n crispy. Served on real plates not the old red plastic baskets. The staff was super friendly. When I accidently filled my water glass with pop out of habit I offered to pay for it. The guy just waved n said not to worry about it. We had quit going to Skippers because the man behind the counter was always so rude, the restaurant was always dirty and the food was mediocre, especially for the price. Not anymore! Absolutely give them a try!
Whats with the chowder turning watery1/2 way through the meal. Stop using cornstarch as a thickener... it is killing your business
I've been to this location many times, for well over 20 years, and I absolutely MUST share this experience. I didn't get a chance to catch the gentleman's name that runs this Skipper's restaurant but between him and his staff I felt welcomed right away. I've never ever seen the place hopping along the way it was today and never been treated so important by the staff. The product was given to me with such care in the presentation and quality of preparedness and I will definitely be making special trips back to this location. It's a long travel for us but this may just become the old Sunday favorite we enjoyed back in the day. I hate to admit that I've eaten at these fast food burger places we all know. It's cost me $25.00 for two people and my order is ALWAYS wrong. This meal of all you can eat fish and chips with chowder and the all you can eat fish and clam strips with chowder for the same cost as the burger place is out of this world. I will pick you over them every day of the week. Thank you to you and to all of your team.
Not a bad place for fast food Seafood, but honestly the prices are a bit too high for a fast food place. They want $5 for 4 Hush Puppies. Or was it 3 Hush Puppies? I can't remember. Like I said, not bad food, but too pricey for fast food.Having said that, I do want to say that I give 3 stars because the service is great! The people who work there are very professional and good people who make this place a place that you do want to return to again and again. Even if the prices are a bit steep.
Had lunch with my wife cause we have 3 kids and never get time to our selves, the place is in good shape and clean. There where only two people and a whole line of people. But between the cashier and cook they did a great job. Also want to say the cook did a awesome job handling a customer who was not very patient as well as the orders and making sure the other customers where happy and enjoying their food. Will return
