Definitely casual and a good social spot for groups of friends in their 20's. The experience wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Unfortunately the food was not great. I ordered their version of a French dip that failed to offer anything unique from what I could make at home. I'd say that wasn't the best item to pick to judge the menu though.The Thai Curry wasn't even a curry at all. The chicken unfortunately was dry and had an overwhelming firewood smoke flavor. The waiter was quick to notice the lack of sauce on the meal and had it fixed quickly. It was a lot better after that, but still not a curry, and the chicken was best kept aside.They were quick to make up for the mistake, though, which was very appreciated. They offer gluten free and vegan options for nearly the whole menu with minimal seafood. My partner has life threatening allergies, gets sick from gluten, and has EPI, and their menu caters to that well. We are definitely going to give this establishment another shot.
Very disappointing food. Wish we had gone somewhere else. Service was fine, the place seemed clean enough, the atmosphere was pretty typical for a bar, but the food has gone downhill since the last time we visited. I'm sure it's fine for people going there primarily to drink or who don't typically cook at home, but we expected more based on the reviews, prices, and past experience.

What a little gem! Take the food out of this for a moment. The building is incredible and absolutely worth stopping in to see. Now back to the food, it didnt strike me as amazing but it was certainly good. I'll come here again just to experience the atmosphere.
This was one of the first places that I went in downtown Spokane and I got back most times I am in Spokane. Not only do they have food for everyone (vegan options available), all of their food is amazing. I enjoy everything that I have had there but I really enjoy the Thai Rice Bowl.
First time at Saranac today but I doubt it will be my last! Wonderful location and atmosphere, delicious food and gluten-free options and good prices! Saranac Public House won’t let you down if you’re looking for a beer and burger / sandwich. The staff was very attentive and friendly and I loved the art on the walls.
Full disclosure: I worked here for a while when it opened so I've seen how it's changed over the years and The Saranac remains a solid 4star pub. The food is a cut above and the service is prompt and friendly. We cane when it was slow and the fries that came with our sandwiches had clearly not been dropped for our order; Not a deal-breaker but a bummer none the less. Chicken sandwich was great and kid had the special burger which was also good. Always get the pretzels!
Hands down my new favorite restaurant in Spokane. The food was absolutely amazing. It’s the next day and I’m literally craving it. My husband got the Mac n cheese with bacon and pulled pork. Phenomenal. Best Mac I personally have had. I had the Thai rice bowl with the coconut rice and their peanut sauce is to die for and had a nice little kick to it, but not too spicy. If I could give this place more stars, I would. Our server was so nice and knowledgeable. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very welcoming and relaxing. I cannot wait to go back!

The food is amazing, however I’m a service person. With the greatest food poor service can ruin a meal. I have now visited this place three times, thinking well maybe the service will be better each time and nope it never got better. I feel you should not let your customers sit for ten minutes before you bring them a menu, or offer a drink. Now I would understand if it was busy, however it wasn’t. It also took 25 minutes to make a simple hand held chicken wrap. I think the owner of this place should have a training for the staff and how to make sure the customers are being helped and waited on in a timely manner.
