We had a phenomenal waitress today, who was also the main bartender. Without her this would be a negative star review. The sushi roles were pre-made and FROZEN when delivered.Food made 3/9 of us incredibly ill.
I picked up Mustard Seed to eat with my mom for our weekly lunch. We all used to love this place and we were looking forward to treating ourselves. My mom ordered the sweet and sour pork and I ordered the chicken “tacos”. They were both inedible. Pork was fried to a crisp and stuck together, and the chicken tacos was a bowl of weird tasting slop. The fried rice was bland and greasy. So disappointing.
Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. When I saw it was in a mall and how big it was I thought it wouldn't be good. My first thought was "it looks like a chain restaurant, therefore low quality" - I know, judgy. And yeah, I was wrong. The cashew chicken was great! Really well served and it really had cashews - Some restaurants skimp on those-The other dish we ordered, wasn't as good for me, little bland (see picture, I can't remember the name)The service was professional and ok friendly.
We came here to celebrate our 3 year anniversary and we were not let down. We started with their Huckleberry Lemonade its the best lemonade ive had in a while. My wife ordered the Mushroom Beef wok fried and she loved it. I ordered my favorite: Dealers choice. Got a custom order she's calling it; Shrimp Osaka with veg. And it as well was fantastic. The waitress Christy said it's her favorite meal here. I also ordered a dealers choice alcohol and she presented me with a One Tree Lemon Basil drink. It was very flavourful. 10/10 will definitely eat here again. The waitress also let me know if the next time she's my waitress she already knows what she's going to get me.
We eat here every time we come to Spokane the food is always great. Last night was possibly our last visit the food was excellent but the service was horrible. The waitress we had forgot about us three times and apologized each time. Once happens twice I’m getting annoyed and three times your not getting a tip or a good review
Went there on the spur of the moment with a friend for lunch. We had planned on an outdoor picnic, but the weather wasn’t cooperating, so we met halfway, which was at the Mustard Seed. We got there early enough before the crowd, and the service was very friendly, not pushy, overall good. I had the Teriyaki Tofu with a pot of green tea. The whole meal was rather bland, but the portion was quite large. Nothing too positive nor negative to say about it. What I would expect from a chain restaurant though, not this type of restaurant. At $10.95, it was fairly priced, and I was certainly full. As the restaurant filled up, we were never made to feel like we had to leave. My friend and I had a lot to catch up on so we appreciated that we could stay for a while.
I was taken here for my birthday. It was good I got the Osaka bowl with shrimp and my husband got the caramel chicken (he said his tasted weird). We were with family so I didn't get any pics of the meals just the starter. My dish tasted fine although I did not use the Osaka sauce as I tasted it and it was very potent like wasabi and hot mustard. The Asian slaw was very potent as well I tried to eat some of it and it was just too strong of a ginger flavor. We liked the pot stickers pictured. Family also enjoyed their meals the fried halibut comes in bite sized pieces which was different. The rice was also unusual tasted like buttered jasmine rice. Overall good experience
The slaw salad had a terrible overwhelming flavor of vinegar and salt. The entree portions are less although very good. The quality of the meat was fresh all white without fat and not processed. Very good!
We used to come here all the time. Not sure if we will be back again after reading online that they're open and yet we commute the half hour that it takes to get there hoping to enjoy a prevalentines day evening dinner to find it closed early... The food, drinks and service are always great; however, the hours of operation aren't always consistent. This is the second time this has happened unfortunately.
Ordered the almond chicken - it wasn't hot, had very little sauce and no taste! Yuk! On the other hand, I had the cherry cobbler for dessert and it warm and delicious. Service was okay, though the server let our water glasses go dry and never came by ask if we would like refills. Not a place I plan to eat at again any time soon!
