Fan since 2003, it’s new ownership shows they are barely imitating. Previous owner would never negatively react to an order, complain about the table or touch his phone or eat while cooking. #tainted
Food was good. Saturday night was not a good night to visit. Some staff were out sick. Waitresses were having hard time keeping up with orders. Some of our food was very late getting to the table. I prefer Hakatas food to other chain sushi in Silverdale. Normally very efficient. Waiting for more normal times to return. Good food and great people here.
New ownership, don't know when that happened. Everything *tasted* good, but the nigiri and sushi rolls we got weren't much to look at. The nigiri was smaller than my thumb and the rolls were thin as my finger and cut to uneven sizes. Taste is great, looks are lacking.I was happy that tea was presented to me, I didn't have to ask for it.The food came out at different times. I got katsudon and my girlfriend got a sushi platter, and the sushi came out 5-10 minutes after the donburi. I'd still say overall it was a good experience.
We recommend everything about Hakata!! Our daughter wanted to come here for her birthday and the experience was excellent!! The food and staff was on point!! They really care about their customers and it shows. Highly recommend checking them out!!
We'll definitely come back. Much better than some Japanese restaurants in downtown Seattle. It's real Japanese food.
Great family sushi restaurant. Fish is fresh with the best prices I've seen in years. Great variety of sushi rolls. I go for the sushi and wife goes for cooked dishes. I share some of mine with her... Service is prompt. A great satisfying meal even for a sushi freak like me without breaking the bank. We eat here frequently with our kids and grandkids.
Amazing service, friendly atmosphere, GREAT food, good price. I took my wife out for a “date night” with our baby in tow, the lady who greeted us was so kind. She said my wife looked pretty (which of course she did)! She seated us at a bigger table since we had the baby with us. The service she provided was genuine. That alone would have made me rate this place five stars. Good hospitality is far and few between these days.This was the best sushi I have had so far on the west coast. The food came out fast, and everything was exactly how we had ordered it. For sure recommend and will be going back!

I love so much of their food but their mama roll and papa roll are spectacular spectacular everything else tasted nice the bento Box was delicious everything's everything's so fresh and vibrant. The staff are quick and helpful. Place was a little crowded but you can't blame them the food is just that amazing. If you're looking for Japanese food or sushi this is the place for it. My daughter doesn't even like raw fish a fish and she loved that papa rule it was so Bright with a lemon flavor from the sliced lemon and the Ratish sprouts gave it a peppery taste. The mama rule was my favorite it was so so fresh. Had a nice mild sweet taste loved it so much. We shared the 2 and they were so good. Or my husband had the salmonOr my husband had the salmonTeriyaki definitely a great alternative if you're not as big on Japanese food. We also got some Goya. I love that they serve tea with everything.
Has everyone lost their ability to taste? The food is not fresh. The scallops were slimy and off. The octopus hard as an eraser. And no matter how much wasabi you use you can't fix non fresh fish.
