The lady on the white scarf was pretty rude yesterday. I don’t know what I did but she had an attitude immediately. Also they took pretty long to acknowledge me. When I was picking up my order she was then aggressive and demanding my receipt even though I was the only customer they had for the last 8-10 mins. When two older white gentlemen walked in, they quickly said hello and showed respect to them. Is this how they treat every Non white customer? Never going back. I felt like they didn’t want me there. 2 stars because the food was okay
Fast service. A variety of tasty, filling food in large portions. Lamb Shawarma was filled with thick tender chunks of delicious lamb.
If you are looking to have a culinary dream in the Middle East, then look no farther than Zaina. These ladies were busting out gyros and shawarma like it's nobodies business. Need a delicious flavor explosion the baba and pita is banging! Hands down we will be going back.
Horrible experience. Called ahead to make an order for a shawarma sandwich, gyro plate and Greek fries. When I went to pick it up the older man at the register seemed out of it and it’s understandable with age but shouldn’t be put on the register then. Took forever for him to type out the order and he wasn’t the nicest, pretty sure he totaled it wrong, ended up being more expensive than what I had originally calculated from menu prices. Regret not getting a receipt. Got home and saw the food, was not impressed. Shawarma sandwich was basically another gyro plate because they had rice too and they just gave two burn pita breads on the side. Food was smothered in oil and sauce, basically inedible. Greek fries were the only halfway decent item but still lacking flavor. Waste of money, completely regret going!
AMAZING food! Great service! Wonderful day to eat outside on the patio tables too. Called in the order and picked up 10 minutes later. Lamb kebab plate could definitely be shared by two people or split for another meal later. Lamb gyro was stuffed to the gills. Great portions. Will add that all menu prices don’t have the extra $2 added on for price increases. Even with the price increase, you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck.
This is, in fact, the same Zaina that used to be downtown!
Stopped there on my way home from work yesterday…The woman who greeted me after taking a long time to even look at me, started dishing up my requested meal. Then some old guy(owner?) came to the counter to finish it up. On his way to the counter he was wiping his nose and mouth with a napkin, no gloves, mask under his nose. As he was dishing up the meat he dropped a piece and picked it up and put it in his mouth!! Ugh!!! And, continued to wipe his nose and dish up my food!!! I wanted to vomit!!! Beyond unsanitary!! I left without my dish. Thank goodness the woman was too slow to take my money!!Sad. I used to like Zaina until last night. ?
When you advertise as “the greatest falafel on earth” and “greatest gyro ever”, it’s tricky to back it up. I didn’t come here expecting both statements to be true; however, I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The corner location and the colorful building makes it easy to spot. The food is decent and very friendly service.
I feel like the quality of the food has diminished recently. Not sure if there are new owners or what has changed? The Greek Salad had wilted oxidized lettuce and extremely pale tomatoes. The Falafel was salty and drier than usual. The Pita was not as fresh and came unwrapped in the bag. The food was placed in the plastic bag sideways and left untied. The food then mixed in the containers when held upright. Something is definitely off at a place we have enjoyed for years!
It's unfortunate. The food is good, but the owner does not enforce the mask requirement. I politely asked someone who came in after me to put a mask on. He didn't and was pretty offensive as well. The owner said nothing. I won't be back.
