I've been looking to try vegan chicken and waffles for years, so I was really excited to try it at Wayward. It was really good! You'll notice from my picture that I got pretty into it before I remembered to take a picture! :)We also recently really enjoyed their country fried steak and biscuits and gravy - it was all pretty darn good! Their tempeh bacon is a favorite for me!I hadn't been here in years - I went a few times probably 5-6 years ago and enjoyed it then too. I just moved back into the area and was excited to try this place again. I feel like it's even better than it was when I went here years ago.Presently they are still set to pickup/delivery only. They don't do door dash -- bummer for me since we got dash pass and most of our favorite places are on door dash, so we opt to call in our order and pick it up. I do really appreciate that they send text updates when your order is ready for pickup. Everyone I have talked to there has been friendly and helpful. They have gotten our order right every time, and they have been right on with their timing estimates. We're fans of Wayward in my home, and we're pretty excited to live close enough to order from here more often. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try vegan versions of their favorite breakfast items or American style foods - it will fill your craving!
Visiting from CT and we stumbled across Wayward, I know some reviews are hit or miss but everything was SO good. I've been vegan for 7 years and my boyfriend is not but even he loved his food! Was super warm and fresh and seasoned well. Give it a shot!
Amazing food. They don’t do dine-in’s right now due to lack of staff but Green Lake Park is right nearby with bench tables and restrooms which is where we went to eat. The country gravy that comes with the biscuits is INSANE 5/5 dish. Friendly staff too.
These people know how to cook! One of the most delicious brunches I have had. The tofu Benedict with cashewnut hollandaise was amazing. One could eat that all day. The totchos were divine! My friend got the veggie omelette and it was out of the world as I hear it. Everything looked great. Affordable. Great portion sizes. Simple delicious! The service was also fantastic. I wish I lived nearby or at least in Seattle. If you are in Seattle, this is a must visit place for sure! Everything is vegan and lots of gluten-free options too! Give your money to these folx!
Checked their web site and it said nothing about it was only pick up and delivery with no sit in dining available. Finding this out on arrival, I advised them that a simple upfront message on their web site would have saved a wasted journey, they told me that wasn’t an easy thing to do…hence the one star. Shame as they’ve got a great menu, there was just nowhere to sit and eat anything from it!
Order online no dine in at this time. Ordered a hot cake and side of hash-browns as well as Fried Chicken and waffle. All was excellent. Would definitely go back. Love all the plant based restaurants in Seattle.
SO IN LOVE!! We go down for the tater tot hash and biscuits and gravy about 3-4 times a month! They have other food that is good too, but my omnivore bf is beyond obsessed with the tater tot hash. So it’s a win for the whole family! My son loves the “wild cat” which is tofu and sausage rolled up in a pancake ?OMG and the sourdough toast must be made from the Gods because ? *drool*I def recommend since I am there all the time!Pictured is the tater tot hash and biscuits and gravy.
Me, my wife, son, and nephew went to this restaurant to try out another vegan establishment and I can say that we were not disappointed at all! My wife had the Belgian Benedict, my son had the Lockjaw Burger, and my nephew and I had the Country fried burrito! We were not disappointed and the next time my wife and I are in the area we plan on visiting this outstanding place again!
Just a few minutes north of university and walking distance to the Ravenna, right off the highway, on 65th street this staple sits awaiting your every vegan desire. A standard American diner but Vegan! They have all your comfort foods and feel-good classics with plant-based variations. Yes, it’s easy to go towards the unhealthy side if you over-do it but there’s plenty of middle of the road options for either health-conscious or munchie addicts. The service was good and they were kind over the telephone as well as when making a few simple customizations. Upon arriving we were warmly greeted and the food was ready on time despite the busyness. We tried the gluten free pancakes and veggie omelet! Cafe vita coffee in drip as well I believe. We’ll be back to explore more of the menu soon! Wish the dine would come back but we’re happy the restaurant is at least still open.
5 stars for the waffles and biscuits, which are EXCELLENT. The actual vegan fare is kind of weak though - the vegan eggs, sausage, and gravy were all rather mediocre. But the absolutely delicious waffles and biscuits saved the meal!
