Simply the winner. So good. The chef creates the master pieces with the freshest ingredients. You must try if you like sushi.
Pretty good for the price point, $40-50 omakase. salmon was very good. Scallop was super good too. tuna wasn't very good. Has legit wasabi which is always a good sign. Would return once they're open for dine in and can pick and choose which ones I want.
Everything you expect in excellent sushi, fresh, beautifully prepared, and excellent service. Come support your friendly neighborhood sushi restaurant, now serving takeout only. Order early they sell out quickly!
The sushi was beyond my expectations. I ordered the take way omakase. Both fish and rice were great. This place got be better than 95% of the sushi places in the US.
The takeout here during covid is fantastic value and absolutely delicious. Super friendly staff too.
Yes, I agree with the people below me. This is by far the best sushi place in PNW. (Even my picky foodie friend from Portland agrees me)$40 omakase (10pcs nigiri 1pc futomaki style negi toro) : 1 GF and 1 normal$30 futomaki : not gluten-free(Both take out)They were also very nice and assisted me well in changing one of my menu to Gluten-free.
Best nigiri sushi I've had in the PNW. Ordered for pickup the next day. $40 for a good variety and quantity of sushi. This is a place run by a Japanese sushi chef, so my interaction with the woman in charge of the orders and hearing the chef talking in the back kitchen reminded me of my days living in Tokyo. Upon first glance I didn't think the portion would be enough but it was, and the fish was fresh, and the rice had perfect consistency and flavor. ご馳走様でした!
Ordered take out on the restaurant's online ordering website. The pick up was smooth. Sushi Omakase was really great value for the price. Super fresh ingredients. Everything tasted amazing, especially the charred ones. Each piece was distinct and like a mini adventure with layers of flavors and textures. The portion was perfect. I started to feel full at the 9th piece but was able to finish everything. Will definitely order again!
Since C19 hit, we have become regulars at Wataru. Their take out chirashi and omakase are both amazing. Don't forget to try some of their sake to accompany, they have a lovely list and they all pair beautifully with the food.
Had a nigiri set today, fish quality is awesome especially at its price. 2 small cons to me for this time:1. the soy sauce was a bit over to me.(possibly because I drove 30min to home after I picked up)2. there is a small fish bone in the salmon. I am not a sushi expert and I am not sure if it is a mistake or not. But imo it can be dangerous if you are not focused while eating...Will try chirashi next time.
