New American Seafood Tapas/Small Plates

One of the worst fine dining experiences I’ve ever had. Figured we’d give them a try since they were connected to the Hyatt Olive 8 hotel we were staying in. Entered the restaurant on the hotel side and my children and I stood there for a solid 10 minutes while the restaurant staff continued to walk by us and stare at us like we were aliens. Eventually I just approached a server who was nice enough to walk us up to the host desk and we were seated within the next 5 minutes. Drinks came within 10 minutes of ordering (I had the T-Fashioned which was ok), appetizers (including the bread and butter which they make you pay for) took 45 minutes to come. During this time I also could not find my server to order another drink and our entrees. The lobster mac and cheese that we ordered was basically the equivalent of a bowl of cold kraft mac n cheese with a few pieces of lobster meat. The seafood chowder was actually pretty tasty and came out hot. The scallops were bland and disgusting but the arugula salad the scallops come on top of was really good. We eventually tracked down our server to order more drinks and entrees. For entrees, I ordered a burger, as did my aunt and each of my children. None of us liked any of the burgers but it was late and we were hungry so we just ate it. I got the bill and right before I went to pay I noticed a 15% gratuity on there that our server never brought to my attention (it should be mandatory that they verbally inform you of gratuities). As someone who actually worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry, I feel it’s incumbent upon me to always tip better than 20% for good service because most people don’t realize how difficult the job can be. On this day I had no intention on tipping even 15% for food and service that was very subpar but I paid the bill and left. If you are thinking about coming here to eat, please reconsider and look at some of the other reviews on here. I previously worked at Ruth’s Chris across the street from here so I’d suggest going there or to one of the many other restaurants in the area. If you’re staying at the hotel and don’t feel like traveling for dinner, you might want to get something on UberEats or one of the other food delivery apps. The prices you pay and the 15% service charge to dine here are certainly not worth it.

Focused on the small plates. Presentation and flavors were excellent for my taste. Service was prompt and April was attentive.

Mediocre service, less than average food, we won't be going back.

Goods - Great food and drinks. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and engaging. Others - Restaurant cold but that might have been that it was below freezing out. Menu was limited to 6 entrees or so, therefore, if you didn’t find anything to your liking you were out of luck. Pricey.

This restaurant was super disappointing!! The food was super mediocre, super expensive, and the service was subpar. Despite there being hardly anyone in the restaurant and having a reservation, we waited about 15 minutes to be seated and another 30 for our food, even though we only ordered appetizers. Additionally, our waitress was distracted and chatting with what seemed to be her friends at another table almost the entire time. Needless to say we went to Shake Shack after for a real dinner.

Was a wonderful way to spend our weekend Christmas getaway for dinner. Excellent food drinks and service.

The food is way overpriced, and the quantity is way too little for the price... The service was reasonable, not great. Overall, I would rate this restaurant a 3 of 5. Definitely not a place I plan on returning to in the future..

Surf and Turf was good. City street ambiance was okay. Walk to hotel and theater was the ultimate convenience.

Nice staff, great location, terrible food. High price for inedible food.

We ordered crab dip and bread plate for apps. The bread came with salted butter that was so salty as to be inedible. We asked for butter w/o a heap of salt on top. Had to ask twice, but eventually the waiter brought edible butter. They were out of the "fish of the week" so I order halibut, which was delicious, but the serving size was tiny. My husband ordered the hamburger. The waiter did not ask how he wanted it cooked, and it arrived well done (yuck). He couldn't finish it. It also arrived with fries but without ketchup. The waiter never came back to see if the food was okay, so we never had a chance to ask for ketchup. We were generally dissatisfied with the service so when the bill came, my husband asked to have the automatically added gratuity removed from the bill. The waiter yelled at us and told us to just leave. So we did. But the entire experience was disconcerting.
