The Showbox is an intimate venue at the top of my list. The historic significance is utterly impressive, as is the atmosphere. This venue does have limited seating, however, I did not find it to be an issue for the three and a half hours we were there. The acoustics were superb, the refreshment availability was welcome and the food offerings were tasty. I welcome the next show that will bring me back.
The best music venue in Seattle. A part of Seattle history. Please never ever allow this place to be torn down or demolished for some high-rise condos, it would kill me.
This venue has great staff and pretty great sound quality compared to other Seattle venues. The shows I've been to here have had more incidents than other places, but that sometimes comes with general admission. Security has always been great dealing with people who are too aggressive (in an unwanted way). The bathrooms are on the stage side towards the corners. Super cool! I'm really impressed on how they manage crowds, it's much more efficient than a lot of other Seattle venues.
This is by far my favorite venue to see live music in the Seattle area. It's an intimate setting and whether you are standing on the main floor or sitting at a table, there isn't a bad spot for viewing.
Fun smaller venue, Good sound, Pretty lights, Respectful Staff, $5 coat check, still requiring folks to wear masks as of 3/18/22,The $5 parking in the Market parking garage (check the hours) is SO CLOSE, so parking for this venue is a breeze.I docked 1 star becausedrinks are expensive and not that great, but I'm sure it's up to Seattle Concert Standards. ;)If you do enjoy spending money on booze: Don't forget there's also bar at the front of the venue if the one in back is too busyKeep in mind this is a small venue, so it gets PACKED, sometimes body to body. :) Have fun
Lived in Kirkland for 30 years (married with kids) and never once ventured downtown to see a show here: my bad! This venue is awesome! Looks like it was built during the Rat Pack days, with a vibe like Nawlins. The staff are friendly and efficient, the show (Elle King and Lola Kirke) was fabulous. There's only one thing to beware: be prepared to stand for hours because seating is severely limited (and usually Reserved).
great little venue, went to a sold out show but it wasn't a tight fit. the crowd was really chill and respectful, and staff was generally pretty nice. there's some charm to the venue too, with a neat little disco ball. great show!
Loved the intimate venue and the sound was amazing! There was plenty of room at the bars and the floor to move around and get some differ vantage points of the stage and band. Restrooms were very easy to access and clean. Bar had quick service and friendly staff. The interior is beautiful Art Deco and well lit between bands. When my favorite artists comes to Seattle, I cross my fingers and hope they go there!
Small little concert venue. Concert prices. The entire process is a little backwards and confusing. Go to the door. Directed to an unmarked line 20 feet away from the door to check your covid card and ID. Enter. Metal detector. Coat check. In line to go up the bar. Need to go back to coat check and get a wrist band. Back to the line. Get drinks. Cannot take an open mixed drink in a plastic cup onto the dance floor … but a mixed drink in an aluminum can is just fine.
It's a great smaller venue. The sound is good, the decor is very nice.. only downside is the parking is rough right downtown. Just saw ALL THEM WITCHES play last night and they killed it!!!
