Ordered two popular menu items : Lao Burger and Thom Khem (Pork Belly stew). The burger was good but I expected more (after reading previous reviews). The Thom Khem was a bit salty. Overall - the food were ok - but not special.
For our Saturday outing we went to Taurus Ox although there were just fewer ratings but man was I blown over. I thanked the heavens for not restricting me to visit this place and myself for taking a chance. I do not say it lightly but “they have THE best burger” I have ever eaten. The majestic Lao burger oozes with flavor, the meat was so juicy that my mouth is literally watering while writing this review. If nothing else just go there for their Lao burger and you would be amazed. If not the best def one of the best burgers you will have. I wish more people would review this place so everybody can enjoy their delish food ❤️
Great food! Very cozy space. It would be nice if the trash cans at the outside seating area is covered because the smell gets a bit disturbing with the wind. Also if the online ordering system has options for special requests like no onions it’s be awesome
The Taurus Ox burger may be the best thing I’ve ever eaten. I don’t know. I’m in crisis. No burger will ever match the taste and that’s a fact. I really loved sitting in the restaurant to enjoy it. Great kitchen and a nice cozy space. Very talented crew. Obviously cohesive and a great team. I’d love to return and have some of the traditional Laotian classics. But seriously I am going to have dreams about that burger. It’s incredible.
The food here is amazing. Quick and friendly service. The dishes we ordered were: Thom Khem, Lao Pork Sausage, Lao Beef Jerky with Jaew Tomato. Everything tasted pretty authentic. We also have the house tamarind and lemonade and they were just like how we had it in Lao. We will definitely come back to try other dishes. The road in front of the restaurant is down to a one way one lane road (heading toward the east direction) so parking is a bit difficult to find so give yourself some time to find parking if you are driving.
We stopped for an appetizer and a cocktail and it was such a good choice. The restaurant is small and road construction currently makes it hard to access (April '22) but if you are nearby, it's a great stop.We were trying to decide between the beef and sausage appetizer and chose one. When the server brought our food, we had both! He said the other was so good we really had to try it. ? They were both delicious.A word of caution: if you use any of the chili oil, start with just a little.It. Is. HOT. ?
Absolutely amazing food and at a good price too! This gem of a restaurant is a definite must visit. We ordered their Thom Khem (which was delicious and our favorite), Chicken Laap (also delicious), Lao Burger (also a favorite on our table), and Khao Soy Noodle soup (pretty good). Didn't like their mango sticky rice much, it was more rice-less mango, but the crispy puffed rice was a unique add-on that I didn't mind at all! They have limited seating so you will most likely have to wait for a seating, but it's well worth it. The staff was friendly too!
I really enjoyed the experience at Taurus. The staff were quick and very friendly, the food is phenomenal and as authentic as you can get without going to someones home kitchen, and I enjoy that it's small and cozy with open kitchen. The sounds and smells permeating the restaurant make for a very enjoyable experience that pairs well with what you'd expect actually being in Laos.
The place is small and cozy. You can listen to the cooks humorously criticizing your order which is funWell adjusted for covidBurger was very good and recommended, the papaya salad was drowning in sauce for my taste, do not recommendOverall a great experience!
Really like the vibes of this place. Wasn’t blown away. I thought everything was good, but for some reason things just seemed off. maybe the temperature? Or freshness? Kinda felt like the food was just sitting around. Gonna give them another visit though, hope to have fresher, piping hot food next time.
