My first time here from New York. At first the wait was long because someone called out which is total understandable especially now during the age of Covid. But, the wait was definitely worth it! I absolutely enjoyed everything & will definitely stop by again in the future.
Let me start off by saying: Excellent service and atmosphere - authentic feel for sure. Food wasn’t the quality I expected for a highly rated Caribbean restaurant, most items were fresh and lacked seasoning. The festivals were great! I asked for an extra spicy red snapper escovitch style only to be brought to me not spicy at all…that was disappointing. Perhaps they cater too much to the North American palate.REPLY TO THE REPLY:My Escovitch snapper was bare and had a fingernail sized slice of scotch bonnet for the entire plate and you call that very spicy? C’mon now…

The people here are fantastic! I had family visiting from Alaska so I brought them here to try the food and the staff was SO friendly even tho we didn’t arrive till just before closing. They were accommodating, super kind(even after we stayed past closing) and so eager to make our visit as welcoming as possible. Omar; the waiter went out of his way to make sure we felt welcomed and had everything we needed. I felt like he was genuinely enjoying his time interacting with us and that’s wonderful.The food is also very authentic! Lots of Caribbean flavors coming through and the playlist is top tier. If you’re ever in the area, definitely stop by- even if it’s just for drinks and vibes. I promise it’s worth it!
While waiting for your takeout you may be approached by bar patrons posing as “musical artists”. Truly, they are scam artists and have no shame in physically pressuring women to give them as much money as possible. Food here was solid 3/5 but the ethics of the bartender allowing this behavior is an immediate 1 star review. What a shame!

I’m visiting from Miami, Fl so I had to give this one a try. Curry goat was delicious? Red Stripe? ting? your money is well spent here! Give Taste of Caribbean a try, everyone is nice I felt like it was family. Thank you for a great evening.
Super tasty food. Fair prices.Ordered jerk chicken and callaloo and saltfish with red beans and rice. Taste was super good. wish I got more, but what I did get was deliciousMinus one star because our jerk chicken didn't come with any rice or salad or anything even though the menu said so - the plate was supposed to come with that.The whole place vibe is pretty great though. Would recommend and willing to try again.
Excellent food, excellent service, cool environment for a little bar. I recently reviewed another restaurant with Jamaican food. Won’t mention the name of that place in this review but this place was far superior and I will certainly return.
