Easily some of the worst Indian food I have had here in the United States. Very little depth of flavour and breads were generally poor. Definitely for the suburban crowd and I would not return.I will give credit to the staff though, they are very courteous and friendly. Drinks are also pretty solid and food is on the milder side, order a step up for heat.If what they do works for them, I respect that and obviously many others have had a better experience from their perspective.
Seventy bucks for items in the photo for take out. Can't imagine paying 85 if I dined in and had to pay tip. The curry was expected and good but the naan very doughy. Nothing was actually that hot anymore so that took away from the experience. I've had plenty of take out curries that stayed deliciously hot so this shouldn't be an exception.Food: 6/10Value: 3/10
Ambiance is good. Good Food and fair amount of options. Must visit if you like Indian and ate nearby.Didn't have the best experience with the staff. Had to request and wait for plates after food was ready. Never getting back on request to adjust heat. Maybe it was a one time thing.Overall was a good experience.
Taste of India has been our favorite Indian restaurant for couple decades. We love the bottomless chai!! We always drive to U district for Indian food. Tikka masala, butter chicken all very yummy. Spinach naan, garlic naan are great too. Service is good and now during Covid there is big open space under cover where their parking spots used to be.
The food here is really good and nicely presented. The waiters are like sharks walking around to check on you and quickly refill your glass. I also loved the cozy outdoor seating.
Cants say enough about the quality of the food here. Just the best flavors and textures I've ever had. The chicken, naan, sauces are all so perfectly crafted. It was ten years since my last visit and it's truly timeless food and now I get to share it with my family! Great outside seating with plenty of heaters and we'll spaced tables. super covid safe practices here that we really appreciate.Go! Have this experience!
Chicken butter masala was probably the best I’ve ever had. Outdoor seating was cozy and venue was excellent for Saturday evening with no wait.
I am so impressed with Taste of India's food, service, and the overall experience! The service is thoughtful and attentive, my cup of chai never emptied and they even gave us some to-go on the house! Including a slice of delicious cake to accompany it! The food shined just as bright as the service, perfectly portioned and full of flavor. We chose to sit outside on a particularly cold day, and one of the staff noticed our heater wasn't disturbing a lot of heat and he came and adjusted it for us, unprompted.Definitely coming back. Best service I've experienced at a restaurant in a very long time.
Great food but really long wait to prepare and pickup on Friday night even with online order. Said it would be 45 to. 60 mins, was 90 mins and there were 15 ppl in line to collect food.... and many upset delivery service drivers wasting time in the clock. We will try India Bistro next time...
When in the University District, we always come here for lunch. Outstanding food. Informal setting. Lots of outside seating. Popular spot. This time we shared palak masala(paneer) and another vegetarian dish ( see picture). Naan and their rice are always perfect. Get the chai also.
