Ordered the bento which was slightly disappointing. Tasted ok in general. There were some fish that had hard to chew bits. Some of the hot items came cold. Expected more but liked the drinks and overall atmosphere.
I can't believe I have been sleeping on this place! Try the Dan dan ramen! It's spicy in the best possible way! Kind of tasted like chorizo, very rich in flavor and perfectly proportioned. The scallop ceviche was light, the scallops were beautiful. But the chef went a little too heavy on the vinegar. It was paired with delicious homemade tortilla chips. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place!
Great food! Service was a tad missing (was never asked if I wanted a second beer) but they may have been just short staffed or have newer servers. I don’t judge too harshly on this as everyone’s just trying their best. Got the “best bite” and the “Chirashi jewelry box.” Friend got the bento box on the Specials menu Must say, probably the best Chirashi I’ve had in a long while. Fresh and large portions of fish and good ratio to rice. Expect to pay higher prices for the food, as this is in Cap Hill and a hip/trendy place. As I was eating, I kept thinking when can I return?…. Hence, 5 stars.
My son and his girlfriend took us here for dinner on Saturday night and we had the best time!! The food and drinks are delicious and Patrick the bartender is always a favorite!!
Decided to come here for a quick dinner and drink on our last night out in Seattle. Ended up staying the whole night. We got seated at the bar and our bartender Patrick took amazing care of us! All of the food and drinks were delicious. If you don't know what to get and want to try a little bit of everything, the bento box is the way to go! Definitely coming back on our next trip!
The food is amazing here. The salmon, pumpkin, and eggplant are all fresh and yummy. I am so shocked that the lychee wine was made in my home country !! The plum highball is also sweet and tasty. Great environment and staffs.
With only a few nights in Seattle and a lot bars and restaurants on our list we made the time to do Tamari Bar twice! It was that good. The food was interesting, artistically presented, and delicious. Ditto for the cocktails, and special kudos to Patrick the bartender for making it an exceptional experience.

The menu didn't have enough variety. This was a struggle for a vegetarian member of our party. I got the teriyaki chicken but honestly it just tasted like chicken with salt and pepper with giant fat caps left on it.A member of our party said the ramen was the best they've had in Seattle, however.
Went here for restaurant week and got the bentos! It was beyond our expectations. DONT WASTE YOUR WASABI ON THE SOY SAUCE. it is REAL WASABI, not the horseradish stuff you get in tubes and powders. Fish was fresh and tasted sweet, and the preparation for the land animals was obviously with an expert hand who knows what theyre doing.
