I'm very confused by the amount of glowing reviews for this place. Neither the food nor the service are good. The food is below meh... and they are the slowest place I've ever been. It took them 45 minutes to make 2 gyros to go, even though they only had one table during that whole time. The people on that one table seemed to be regulars or family, as they were calling the hostess by a nickname (owner maybe?). One of the guests on that table walked directly to the kitchen to return a spoon that had fallen on the floor (or had some sort of problem). This to me is a health violation, why are customers in the kitchen? These are Covid times y'all!Anyway - I live a block away. Got home to discover two soggy cold and sad gyros. They were basically floating on the most insipid tzatziki sauce. The chicken was overcooked, cold, dry, under seasoned. Like they cooked it right from the freezer with not even a pinch of salt. All this on stale store-bought pitas.I ate half a gyro and tossed the rest. This place makes me sad.

The food here is delicious and very authentic! I love their Greek fries. The owners have been part of the Ballard community for decades and are warm and caring people.

This restaurant just cares about money and does not care about customers or community. The restaurant is very chummy with police who harass and brutalize people around the neighborhood. The food tastes like it was made with contempt and scorn. Much better greek food in town, seek it out elsewhere.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Seattle. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Everyone working at Takis is lovely and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat.

Service was great and fast. Very good food with large portions!!

Tried to dine here a few years ago with a large group of friends after an event in Seattle. The service was so slow that we only recieved our waters and salad course after over a half hour to an hour after ordering. The atmosphere was so loud, due to the owner setting up his band in such a small dining establishment, that we could not converse at all and noted that the regulars all brought their own earplugs to survive the din! We ended up walking out and demanding our tabs be cleared when after an hour and a half of ordering there was still no sign of food. The food *smelled* and looked delicious.Wish we could have tried it.Will not be going back.

First time in and everything is so good. Big, delicious portions. Can't wait to go back! Got the gyro platter and a feta and red pepper dip and baklava of course.

The cheese and bread is really yummy! The Coffee is way too sweet for me. First time trying Tzatziki and loved it. Nice place to try something new!

Phenomenal food and great service, kitchen is a bit slow but definitely worth the wait

Wonderful food, seriously the best Greek fries I've ever had- me and my friends love to spend time in here and split a plate of the large 'Taki's Greek fries' which are not just cheese and potato like you may expect. The Greek rice pudding was great- it really changed the game compared to other rice pudding i've had. This business knows what they're doing and they never fail to impress me. I hope to stay for music and dancing one of these nights. my mother and I dined here one night and even got free desert. lovely establishment and I always make sure to show my gratitude for such lovely meals and service.-Mo, Dash, Claire, and Annisa
