Had an amazing time doing the tasting menu and wine pairing! The food was fantastic, very well thought out and presented wonderfully. The wines (all from Washington wineries) were all great and paired beautifully with the food. Service was spectacular as well, from the glass of sparkling wine as we arrived to the preparation of the salad on the edible menu at the table, and of course the servers wonderful explanations of the dishes and wines. Would highly recommend this experience for a special occasion or if you just want to really treat yourself!
Place and service were very good. Food presentation is excellent but some dishes weren't really great. It's unnecessary to have 7 out of 9 with mushrooms and with huge salt variations (some too much, some almost none).Vine selection wasn't good at all. ALL red vines what we were presented smell and taste like they have a vodka splash in them. I understand that everyone has different taste but both of us really didn't like it and didn't drink any red vine.Overall, sorry but I think it didn't match the expectations and price point.
Amazing place.Very unique atmosphere,Exceptionally good tasting food + winesThese are art pieces not foodFlat out amazing experience.
We really enjoyed celebrating our 5 year anniversary with this delightful meal. Each dish had surprising but well balanced flavors. My favorites were the tempura fried maitake mushroom and the nettles and fudgey egg. The house was charming. We felt so taken care of by the staff and appreciated the personal visits from Chef and Owner Aaron Tekulve.
Surrel's biggest strength lies in its service, hence boosting rating by one star.Food (2/5)The food is the biggest item that needs improvement. Most of the dishes are either too salty, or are not memorable, particularly for roughly $200+ per person, where there are options that are better relative quality for the price. For the same price point, I would definitely recommend Canlis more. Or check out Tomo which is half the price but higher quality and more memorable flavors.Out of the roughly 8-9 dishes we had, the only two that stood out were the macaron (first course) and the dessert. The other dishes need to be thought from ground up to make them stand out and spark joy.Service (5/5):From the moment you enter, The chef and staff are friendly. Your table is reserved with a small label, alongside a bouquet prepared by the chefs mother. The staff made sure our needs were attended to, other wise they were out of our way to give us privacy, which we appreciated a lot. They even prepared a small take out gift, which was a thoughtful gesture.
I loved the entire expérience. Food, présentation, ambiance were beautiful. Service with wine pairing could have been better but at the end no disapointment.
We went there for my husband's birthday and we enjoy our Dinner very much. The chef and all staff members are very nice and attentive. We are very happy with the food and service. My favorite dish is the beet dish. The chef makes the beet taste so good. I am very impressed. Highly recommended.
The sparkling wine we had was delicious, and the food was, too. The outdoor seating was very well done, and the heaters kept the space very comfortable. The staff are all very nice.
We decided to come here for our engagement as it seemed like such a fun and interesting place! And oh my goodness, the food was incredible, the atmosphere was so nice, and everything about the experience was amazing. They took care of us with wine recommendations and food that was just out of this world. Amazing!
exceptional in every way.
