Disappointed especially with all the upcharges that were not mentioned. Food wasn't bad but the prices for mediocre food is.On the menu it says "$1-2 more due to inflation".My shrimp, fish, chips (which I actually only ordered rhe shrimp and chips but the order was wrong) Was more than a few bucks. An upcharge for the potato salad which was not mentioned on the menu nor by the waitress. Shrimp were not beer battered. they were standard battered grocery store frozen type shrimp and only 3 of them. 2 small pieces of fish that were just okay and not a battering either. This was about $15 vs the advertised price.4 Fish and Chips husband got. Waitress offered three different fry options but didn't tell us there was an up charge, which ended up being $1. $19 for 4 small pieces of undercooked fish and seasoned fries.The change in all the fees is likely not legal. We didn't know the actual price would be as high especially with added up charges not noted.No service, no water and the male bartender was a bit rude to us.Husband's cider was decent $7.There's better places for food. This was poor bar food at expensive prices.
A wonderful atmosphere near the gardens and locks. I would love some more items to choose from, but overall well worth the price. Good service, great quality consumables.

What a pleasant surprise. Stopped here in our way to the botanical gardens. Great burger. Had the blood Orange beer. It is local and a must try. Highly recommend.
Love The Sloop. The best egg sandwich I have ever had (and I’ve had a lot). Everything works perfectly together, and it melts in your mouth. The prices are fantastic, great beer list, and extremely nice staff. My husband had a field roast burger with onion rings, which were also delicious. Highly recommend.
Best place in town for a affordable drink and some real food. Feels like a real old school small town ballard bar. Great service friendly staff and cheap pool. Even saw some deadliest catch fishermen in there.
Great place for a burger (or any other sandwich) and a brew! They also have great fish and chips. Love the pinball and pull tabs too. If in the area, you really should check em out!
The Sloop Tavern has the amazing slooper size tap beer,great food at a great price. The Nachos are definitely more than enough for 2 people,the Clam Chowder is unique and delicious, and of course the fish and chips is a must. Staff are kind as well.
Your average dive bar with some attitude. It did feel a little cramped in there and not very COVID safe, but I still enjoyed my Manny's while I caught up with some friends.
No hard A. Beer and wine only.They have 9 beers on tap and 2 or 3 ciders. I love the old school vibe. Pool tables and pinball. The food is real good. Monday is steak dinner night...a steak, baked potatoe, garlic bread and salad for 19 bucks! Their burgers and fish and chips are good also. And our waitress, Katie, is always awesome. Love this bar❤️
