Lovely spot for an anniversary dinner. Our server was fabulous.
Make a reservation (available on OpenTable via Google) - indoor seating, parking lot seating and back patio available. Recommend the baguette for a starter as the butter is amazing. Also highly recommend the Bolognese, a must. No outside wine or corking fee available, but lots of great options.
I had specially requested for a fancy table as I was celebrating a birthday but we were running late, so we had pre ordered the food. When we reached the restaurant, we were instead given a table right near the door and aside from the lights (which is not what I had asked for). Later, no one bothered to ask for any order we might want to place and when asked for drinks menu, they said theyâd bring that but never really got one. The food wasnât that great too but I was very much disappointed by the service.
We had an amazing meal! The food was excellent, the server was thoughtful and we overall loved this restaurant. We had the bucatini and the bolognese, both excellent. The butter cake is AMAZING. Highly recommend!
Located among various restaurants in Ballard, San Fermo can be hard to miss initially as it looks like a small house and the San Fermo sign is tiny. But once you step inside the place is deceptively large. There are various different rooms of tables ranging from booths to a 2 tops. During the summer (and probably set up during covid), there is also a big covered area of tables outside. Not an extensive menu, but the place boasts several pasta dishes that are all fantastic. There's 1-2 meat dishes but pasta is what you want to try here. There's also some starters ranging from bread, to gem salad and my personal fave - the roasted carrots. The pasta dishes are somewhat smaller compared to other places but with appetizers, the amounts is plenty. If you have a huge growing teen, then one pasta bowl probably is not going to be enough, but for the average person it was perfect. There's a good selection of wines and unique cocktails. There is a mandatory 20% service charge that is included.
Very small portion for the price paid ! Otherwise great place to dine at !

We love San Fermo for date nights, and last night was no exception. Delicious peach mocktails and was so happy to see morels still on the menu.
I was there with a vegetarian guest but there was still a nice set of choices. We started with the asparagus, buratta and humus which were all quite nice. I had the crawfish entre which was overly salty and not that flavorful (which is where the 4 stars on food comes from). We finished with desert and the butter cake needs a 6 star rating - totally amazing! Another disappointment was I chose the restaurant because i called ahead and was assured that the restaurant had air conditioning. However, it was very warm and i found it uncomfortable. I had called one other restaurant and they told me they had air conditioning and it didn't work well so i didn't go there. San Fermo should have been that honest!
