Listen, the Baileys & Kahlua Oreo milkshake is ridiculous! I’m not much of a milkshake fan, especially with alcohol.. this drink was great! I also had the Sam’s Cheese Burger and it was awesome! I like the atmosphere.. I dined with 7 other people on a day when one of the NBA Finals games was on. Not only were we seated within minutes, our server (I believe her name was Tori) did a great job managing our needy table.. lol
Kicked me out tonight, even though I'd presented ID. The closest they came to having an excuse was that I'd taken a stool that was six feet away from the bar, in order to sit *at* the bar, and couldn't accept that "someone's sitting here" when there wasn't even any room at the bar for the mythical person who was sitting there to put their drink. I offered to sit elsewhere if they'd find me a seat, and I reminded them I was a regular there (2-3 dinners/week for over a year, each with a drink, and with at least $1.50 tip on top of a bill that clearly passes on every penny of Seattle's astronomical wages), but they didn't care. If they don't care about keeping me as a customer, then I don't care about keeping them as a business in my neighborhood.
Was not sure about it due to the low 4 star rating but……..I cannot believe it is not near to 5 stars. Great staff, really friendly and attentive. We ordered beers but saw someone getting the ‘famous’ bloody mary with a burger on top!!! Looked great. We had burgers already ordered - The Jalapeno Reno and the Sams 50. Great tasting, homemade fries. Really good, strongly recommend for burgers, beers, and bloody mary’s!!
I have never left a 1 star review for anything. Our party made reservations for later in the afternoon. When we arrived we were told that other large parties would be there as well and we'd have to leave within an hour of arriving. We got in one drink order and were never offered food-- this hadn't been part of the earlier warning or we would've left before ordering. Instead, because we were a large party, the waitress got gratuity and didn't care after that. The large party next to us was also chased out in similar circumstances. While it may have not been intentional, we felt like we were scammed and that we should've been warned either when making reservations or when we sat down that we could only get one round of drinks and no more.
Sam’s tavern can be crazy crowded at times! And, for a reason - they’ve good food and great drinks! I liked their Moscow Mule. Wasn’t a fan of one of their ciders. ? Their service is good too, albeit a little slow (which could just be me).I am writing this review to give a huge should out to their burgers! I had the Jalapeno Reno with a black-bean patty - I loved it!! It was so juicy and flavorful! Soft buns and crunchy patty! I wouldn’t have minded another burger if it weren’t for the distracting fragrance of the fries! The fries are more like potato wedges - which I love! ??
Very good draft beer selection, good food, but awful staff. Waitress didn't even try to help us when we had questions about the menu. The security, at first, said they couldn't take digital ids, then I brought my fisical ID and he said he needed the passport.. it is the only place in Seattle where we had any kind of problem.
Went for dinner, nice place, decent atmosphere. However, service was terrible, as we got food before water/drinks; the place may be understaffed. Lastly, food was mediocre, ordered a burger with fries, they were both warm-cold; probably sat in the kitchen for a bit, before being picked and served. Not recommended.
The waitress served about 40 people, kept drinks and food coming with minimal wait. Everything was delicious, hot food and ice cold beers. I also had one of their bloody marys with EVERYTHING on/in it the attached food was great. The bloody Mary was super salty. Other than the salty bloody Mary, it was a perfect experience. Again, the waitress was phenomenal and gave the best service.
Ordered takeout from Sams tavern during the pandemic.. they have nice outdoor seating with tents, igloos and heaters..the outdoor patio was packed with people each in their own space and tents.. we ordered the teriyaki chicken and jalapeno reno burger with fried chicken.. both the burgers were delicious but the jalapeno reno won it for me! That sauce is just divine super flavorful.. for the sides please try their sweet potato fries they are really nice and I also substitute normal fries for these sweet potato fries.. their tater tots are okay..
