There’s lots of coffee shops throughout Seattle, but Rey Amargo stands out with their plethora of hot chocolate options. It’s hard to go wrong - they’re all tasty. Not to mention this is one of the few places in Seattle you can get authentic churros! It’s rare that I visit somewhere more than once, but I’ve been here 5 times in the last year. Definitely check it out!

This is one of my favourite places in Cap Hill. We like to come here in those awkward hours when we’re waiting for restaurants to open for dinner, but it’s a bit too late to drink a bunch of coffee. They have multiple kinds of dark hot chocolates that are nice and not super sweet. There’s a ton of options on the menu but the baristas there were always super knowledgeable and guided us on our orders. This location is open weirdly late (for Seattle) during weekends, so it’s also a perfect place to stop by after dinner for a quick dessert drink before going home. They also sell packaged chocolates and chocolate strawberry bits which you can get delivered. The latter turned out to be a popular gift! :)

This place is fantastic. Authentic Mexican chocolate, tastes just like home (I’m from Mexico). I have not found any other place like it in the entire city. Delicious drinks and pastries, you have to try their conchas. The staff is extremely friendly and have great recommendations always, and they’re dog-friendly!!!

Amazing hot chocolate, so many options!! The French style one was thick and tasty

The best hot chocolate in Seattle! Very rich in flavor! The vibes here are also great. The shop is very aesthetic and has large south facing windows that let in natural light.

Wow! I’ve gotten the chance to go here a couple of times, and it’s been terrific both times. They gave me a sampler of the chocolate they put in their Rey Amargo Espresso each time. This was clearly out of pride for their product: they want you try how good their chocolate is. This is worth trying for anyone searching for chocolate, caffeine, or just rich flavor!

The ambiance is great and love that they're open late. It's great that they try to be authentic with lots of real chocolate based drinks but they end up having so many (without pictures) to pick between that you end up a bit lost. I asked for a drinking/sipping-like chocolate but the "thick" chocolates they have are just thickened by adding corn starch so it ends up being more like a pudding - not what I expected at all. I ended up ordering another different drink (paid for both) because the first one was so pudding-like only to have the other one be very similar.I'd recommend adding real sipping chocolate as an option, and showing pictures of the different drinks so it's easier to know what you're going to get! Also please offer more sizes, 4/6/8oz drinks would be great.

Awesome place for hot chocolate!Delicious quality ingredients. Affordable prices. Staff super friendly.Must have in Seattle...

Hot Chocolate and Cheese in Seattle? Yes pls. Also, they have different types of hot chocolate and also coffee and chai. We tried the South American, The Mayan and the RA Espresso. Loved all three. Mayan has the nutty flavor, Espresso is bitter and the South American pairs well with the cheese. Also, mix it in while it’s hot!

I would not recommend the Spanish-style hot chocolate. I was expecting it to be a thick drink but not clumpy pudding
