I found the Retro Restaurant & Lounge by the corner of Stewart Street and Third Avenue in Seattle, WA. I ordered a cheeseburger Texas style. The Burger Breakdown...The Beef: 8-ounce patty was strongly beefy and tasted like a 100% Chuck burger. The fat content was average--about 20%. The burger was juicy, and this was re-enforced by the moist, dense, bun. The burger patty was just firm enough to linger on the palate and hold its own.The Seasoning: I observed the nice man behind the griddle hit the burgers with a salty blend of seasoning on both sides of the patty as they sizzled away. The seasoning was appropriate to stand up to a thick burger and equally thick "buns."The Cheese: Tillamook Cheddar...eff yeah! The cheese was a decadent addition by way of texture. It added a creaminess to the firm mouth feel. The iron and saltiness further served to complement the combination of beef and bun.The Meat To Bun Ratio: This was perfect. The bun paired nicely with the beef patty to deliver a consistent bite throughout the meal. The Fries: There were none. The burgers came with onion rings. In other words, "all that and a bag of rings" Honestly, who needs fries? The Toppings: I ordered Texas Style, so extra pickles and extra mustard. Mmm.Burger Review : If you find yourself by Retro, stop by and enjoy a cheeseburger...you will be happy that you did.
great food and great hospitality bartender was so cool
A great throw back to the days. Excellent food the way it should be at the bar. The atmosphere so reminiscent of younger days. If you know the doors, Van Halen, or the Blues brothers the posters and the place Is for you. Our server and bartender had the best sense of humor I have had the privilege of meeting. Come and enjoy.
To be honest I mainly went to have a beer and shoot some pool. It seems like a nice, friendly place
A delicious, bright star in this city.... AMAZING food, and atmosphere. Can not say just how much I recommend!
Lugar agradable para compartir con amigos
Good prices, good drinks, good food, good service. The place is dim and has a little bit of that dive-bar feeling - the furniture and some decor feels old and cheap - but overall it has a lot of fun wall art and a intimate vibe. Probably a great place to hang out with a group of friends, but not somewhere to take a first date or business meeting.
Cozy nice place. Awesome food. Great company.
Comfortable, dependable place. Nice atmosphere. Good presentation on nice fulfilling food . Full bar w/6 taps.
Great place. Food is great and dog friendly indoors.
